Drudge is reporting that the election returns in Iraq are starting to come in.
For the first time in over 50 years, Iraqis have seen a ballot that didn’t look like this:
Iraq President– Check one:
( ) Saddam Hussein
( ) Pour acid in my eyes, pull out my fingernails, and slit my throat
So far, United Iraqi Alliance, backed by Iranian-born Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, leads with 1.1 million votes. The ticket headed by interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi, a U.S.-backed secular Shiite, trailed second with more than 360,500 votes.
As soon as a vote for Pat Buchanan surfaces, we’ll know the Iraqi people are embracing freedom, Florida style!
