Bill Maher says Christians are stupid for believing in “fairy tales”– then goes on to display an undying blind faith in Europe and Canada

Every time I start to sort of like Bill Maher again, he says something stupid. This time, he said something stupid about people he thinks are stupid– Christians. Particularly, Christians from the Unites States.
Maher told MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, “When you look at beliefs in such things as, do you go to heaven, is there a devil, we have more in common with Turkey and Iran and Syria than we do with European nations and Canada and nations that, yes, I would consider more enlightened than us.”
Strange how Maher can say Christians have more in common with terrorist nations than with his “enlightened” pals, but he leaves a few nations off his list of non-believing “enlightened”. In Canada and Europe, there may be more non believers, but there are still many, many Christians. To put Maher’s “Chrisianity makes you do crazy things and not having religion means you’re more ‘enlightened’” theory into test mode, we need to find nations that do or have forbid religion outright.
China forbids religion, so they must never do anything crazy since “God” isn’t telling them to, right? Tell that to the people at Tiananmen Square, who simply wanted to, in part, have the freedom with which one is free to practice a religion, or not. These folks were “enlightened” to death. Earlier, Mao murdered (excuse me… “land reformed”) millions… and all without God telling him to do it.
Cambodia was another fine example of non-religious nirvana. Pol Pot murdered millions of people, ‘enlightening’ them to an early grave. Many of the murdered were intellectuals (Question of the day for Maher: How and why would a non believer, who therefore falls under your “enlightened” umbrella, fear smart people?)
You have to wonder why Bill would continue to live within the confines of an indoctrinated, zealous nation where he’s surrounded by such simpleton, moronic boobs and hick, wacko ‘believers’. Could it be that he has faith in his ability to better make a buck in America? Faith in better schools for his kids? Faith in better medicine? Faith in a better economy?
Or, is Maher simply the prototypical Hollywood leftist, spouting off about the evil United States, ultimately realizing he has two choices: Making millions in America acting, directing, or performing comedy– Or, moving to an “enlightened” country that is actually dumb enough to practice what he preaches, and earning 75 yuan a week performing a government censored comedy show at the “Beijing Chuckle-Hut” and being tossed in a labor camp every time he cusses?
Sure, there have been atrocious acts committed in the name of “God”. But, what makes Atheism so dangerous, Mr. Maher, is that at least the religious person believes in a supreme being– The takes away any chance of human nature driving them to believe that they are God… and history proves that’s when the real trouble starts.
