Ex National Security Advisor to Bill Clinton, Sandy Berger, pled guilty to a misdemeanor for taking classified documents from the National Archives which were stuffed down his pants.

A misdemeanor? Berger gets a $10,000 fine and a three-year suspension of his national security clearance. If you or I did something similar, we’d be selling our houses to pay the fine and then bunking up behind bars with a 275 pound man who goes by the name “Vicki”.

Berger should be being traded for packs of smokes right now, but instead he’ll walk off easily without a punishment that fits the crime, as seems to be the case for most of his morally questionable and ethically challenged colleagues from the 1990′s.
