Network news declared dead by media coroner Sam Donaldson

There are two reasons I’ll never wear a toupee: “Sam” and “Donaldson”. That lapse in personal judgment aside, Sam is a very astute reporter, and quite the coroner.

Donaldson, speaking at a breakfast at the National Association of Broadcasters meeting in Las Vegas, declared network news to be dead. It doesn’t take a media coroner to see that network news passed away quite a while ago. The stench and the flies are a dead giveaway.

Sam’s DOA pronouncement for network news comes a bit late, because I delivered their eulogy seven months ago.
