Tom Daschle goes home with "The Garland", and as a result, stays home

Former South Dakota Senator Tom Daschle has won the gay version of an Oscar.

This from The Gay City News:

At its 16th annual Leadership Awards, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the nation’s oldest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights and advocacy organization, honored former U.S. Senate Minority Leader Thomas Daschle—who was defeated for reelection in South Dakota last fall—for his role earlier last year in beating back the Federal Marriage Amendment. The amendment would have defined marriage throughout the U.S. as only the union between a man and a woman.

And the rest of America honors Daschle as well, because stuff like this is why we no longer have to put up with Tom Daschle in the Senate.

Morbid curiosity has me wondering what the trophy looks like.

Bring on more pats on the back from the next fringe group. Daschle’s just an award away, perhaps by being recognized with a “Lifetime Acheivement Award” from the “Dyslexic Poodle Humpers of America” or some such organization, from being out of politics forever. Keep the trophies coming, guys!
