A Texas grand jury charged Texas Rep. Tom Delay and two associates with conspiracy in a campaign finance scheme. Here’s the actual indictment.

Delay will have to, at least temporarily, resign his position as House Majority Leader. House Republican rules require indicted leaders to temporarily resign their leaderships. The fact that it’s already in the rulebook speaks a bit about how much this happens.

This from the story:

Democrats have kept up a crescendo of criticism of DeLay’s ethics, citing three times last year that the House ethics committee admonished DeLay for his conduct.

Democrats pointing fingers at Delay all the time isn’t surprising in the least… this is known as a “diversionary tactic.” If you’re about to get busted for stealing a TV, point to the nearest schmuck, preferably one that’s controversial and has many enemies, and accuse him of stealing two TV’s. That should buy you a little time to get your new set home and plugged in.

We’ll see where this leads. One thing’s for sure, there will be a few Democrat parties in DC tonight, which is fine. The strippers need the money.
