Sheehan Takes On Pelosi: War/Sucks vs. Nip/Tucks

It’s on! The peace mom is declaring war.

Cindy Sheehan bid farewell to her former “peace camp” near President Bush’s ranch and began a nearly two-week trek Tuesday toward Washington, D.C., with her sights set on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Sheehan, a Californian, officially announced that she intends to run as an independent against Pelosi in 2008 if the San Francisco congresswoman doesn’t move to impeach Bush by July 23, the day she expects to reach Washington.

Not only has Pelosi failed to deliver on almost everything on her aggressive majority Democrat agenda, but Sheehan’s drive to DC is more expensive now. Since Pelosi took office, gas prices have risen 90 cents per gallon. Big oil is obviously cowering in fear from the mighty Nancy, but Cindy isn’t.

If Sheehan does run and manages to defeat Pelosi, she would take office in January of 2009 and pursue impeachment proceedings against… oh, wait. You’d better somehow move a little faster than that, Cindy. Time’s running out!

Update: So much for the left’s claims of sole proprietorship of inclusiveness. Sheehan’s been kicked off the liberal blog The Daily Kos. Why? She won’t be running as a Democrat. That doesn’t sound very “progressive” to me. The Kos responds this way.

Meanwhile, it looks as if all Republicans need to do for the time being is sit back and watch the Democrats devour each other.
