The problem isn’t that the Democrats are mocking Palin, and to some degree McCain, with pictures like the one below that’s going around — it’s that they actually believe their rhetoric.
Democrats actually think this is an accurate metaphor:
This is good news. It proves that Democrats aren’t learning from their mistakes. They don’t seem to remember how they belittled the intelligence of George W. Bush, and he was so stupid that he only beat them twice. (yeah, I know… Gore won in 2000… whatever… who’s sitting in the White House?)
Democrats continuing to misunderestimate their opponents is a good thing. They never seem to have read the words of the great Sun Tzu, who wrote this:
“He who exercises no forethought but makes light of his opponents is sure to be captured by them.”
As for Palin, Tzu also has wise advice:
“Pretend inferiority and encourage his arrogance.”
I don’t know about pretending inferiority, but Sarah Palin is certainly encouraging their arrogance.
Keep it up, ‘Cuda.
This brings us to John McCain. Unfortunately for McCain — and therefore the GOP in general — Sun Tzu never wrote much about winning a battle via continuous bipartisan gestures.
On this point, McCain also needs a Sun Tzu refresher: “The clever combatant imposes his will on the enemy, but does not allow the enemy’s will to be imposed on him.”
Are you listening, Senator? That should include higher taxes, excessive regulations, the global warming hoax and insane government bailouts.
