Redskins Rule in Effect

I’m not superstitious, but just in case, it can’t hurt to be a Redskins fan for one night:

For 17 consecutive U.S. presidential ballots, the outcome of the Redskins’ last home game before Election Day has been an accurate predictor, some even fancifully claim the true decider, of who will win the White House.

If the Redskins win, the incumbent party in the White House wins the subsequent presidential election. Should the Redskins lose, the party holding the U.S. presidency loses.

If the Redskins win tonight, the “Redskins Rule” says that the Republicans will win, and if the Redskins lose, the Democrats will gain power and change the name of the rule to “The Native American Casino Entrepreneurs Rule.”

Washington plays Pittsburgh, and the Steelers have already endorsed Obama and changed their helmet logo just for the occasion.

Go Skins!
