‘Pole Tax’: Michigan Bill Seeks Permits for Strip-Club Workers

Only two fields of private sector employment remain in my economically devastated state of Michigan — moving van drivers and strippers — and now they’re going to try to regulate the latter out of business:

Michigan’s adult entertainment industry is being targeted for regulation by a senator who said it’s both irresponsible and a promoter of social ills.

Special-work permits would be required to work in adult clubs and a $3-per-visitor excise fee would be collected from club owners under legislation introduced by Democratic Sen. Ray Basham of Taylor.

And let me guess… Sen. Basham will personally visit each and every club to ensure compliance.

“Iirresponsible and a promoter of social ills”? Sounds like he’s talking about government! Leave the booby bars alone and regulate politicians if you really want to do the word a favor, Sen. Basham.

The good news? If you’re a moving van driver, the strippers may soon be hiring you instead of the other way around.
