Reagan’s Warning From First Inaugural Speech Comes to Fruition

Earlier I saw a link to Ronald Reagan’s first inaugural speech in 1981, and watching it was a stark reminder of how far we’ve fallen. The speech also was prophetic:

“For decades we have piled deficit upon deficit, mortgaging our future and our children’s future for the temporary convenience of the present. To continue this long trend is to guarantee tremendous social, cultural, political, and economic upheavals.”

Below is video of Reagan’s first inaugural. “Government is not the solution to our problem. Government is the problem.” When you read those words from a politician, it’s almost like wandering through a museum looking at dinosaur fossils — that’s how long it’s been since we’ve had this kind of leadership. Will we ever have it again?

Also note how there are no “Boos” and negative chants from disrespectful swine after Reagan recognizes Jimmy Carter:
