The “compromised” version of the “stimulus package” was finalized late last night and will come up for a cloture vote in the Senate Monday evening.

When Congress is working weekends, you just know that we’re about to get screwed. This was no different.

Michelle Malkin has a brief breakdown of incomprehensible numbers:

[figures in the thousands]
Agriculture: $5,109,430
Commerce: $21,513,000
Defense: $3,746,000
Energy & Water: $53,843,000
Financial & Gen. Govt: $10,762,000
Homeland Security: $5,076,700
Interior: $11,643,600
Labor, HHS, Education: $169,184,000
Military & VA: $7,428,295
THUD: $60,580,500
Appropriations: $365,629,525 (of course, this one isn’t broken out)

Bottom line: Global Warming, Government Healthcare, Teachers Unions, School Building Contractors, Subsidized Housing, and MASSIVE Pork.

A special thanks goes to “Republicans” Specter, Snowe and Collins, who worked diligently to talk the Democrats down in order to ensure that the knife is only plunged into our backs 12 inches instead of the originally scheduled one foot.

This is 778 pages (PDF here) that they’ll now hurry to a vote before anybody has a chance to read it all.

We have officially been sentenced to death by pork.
