Monday’s Column: Cartoons of Mass Destruction
Filed Under Current Events, Politics | Leave a Comment
Today’s column at WorldNetDaily is about Al Sharpton’s latest attention-whore venture: his call to boycott the New York Post for their publishing of a cartoon about the stimulus featuring a chimpanzee that Sharpton assumes is a racist reference to Barack Obama. I wrote a little about cartoons and racism in “Al Sharpton’s loony toons.”

I don’t agree with President Obama on many issues as you know, but I do appreciate the inspiration he provides to people in the field of the arts. Brazilian carnival queen Viviane Castro demonstrated this in Sao Paulo with an image of Barack Obama on her upper thigh. It’s body art you can believe in. [...]

Ah-Nuld: ‘Geef Me Yuah Money!’

We get four Republican governors to stand on principle (amid charges of racism, naturally) and decline some stimulus money, and then California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger jumps up and says, “I’ll take their share” (or maybe he said “Al’s rake’s over there” — I’m not quite sure). In any case, Arnold wants the declined cash sent [...]

Socks the Cat, R.I.P.

The White House cat during Bill Clinton’s administration, Socks, has passed away (insert your own “pussy” joke here). Socks was preceded in death by Clinton dog “Buddy,” who died in 2002 (a transcript of the eulogy I delivered at Buddy’s funeral can be read at Etherzone). Rest in peace, Socks — if only you had [...]

Will somebody pay the bill for Obama’s big victory party at Grant Park on election night? The city of Chicago is still clinging to “hope” when it comes to getting paid: Chicago has yet to recoup the $1.74 million cost of President Obama’s victory celebration in Grant Park — despite a burgeoning $50.5 million budget [...]

Rick Santelli’s fantastic CNBC rant on the Chicago trading floor has Katherine Jean Lopez at NRO sensing the anger bubbling over, which makes her wonder if all this could be leading to a certain GOP ticket in 2012: If you missed it, here’s Santelli offering a much-needed, passionate defense of doers while putting a good [...]

Obama Administration Already Figuring Out How to Get Back Your $13 a Week Tax Cut
Filed Under Current Events, Politics | Leave a Comment
The tax cuts in the “stimulus” package that Benito Obama signed on Tuesday will supposedly amount to around $13 a week per family, but the Obama Administration is already figuring out how to get that back in Washington: Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood says he wants to consider taxing motorists based on how many miles they [...]

This Soldier for President

Here’s a U.S. soldier in Iraq conducting what would appear to be a much-needed motivational seminar for Iraqi police. I wish we could hire this man to speak to Congress on behalf of John Q. Taxpayer. Rated “R” for gratuitous f-bombs: (h/t LGF)

Obama Cartoon Strife Redux: From Fist-Bump to Chimp Thump
Filed Under Current Events, Politics | Leave a Comment
We’re not even a month into Barack Obama’s presidency, and as near as I can tell, the biggest threats to our nation that must be aggressively dealt with are Rush Limbaugh and some cartoonist from the New York Post. Let it never be said that common sense priorities can ever get in the way of [...]

Steele Says GOP Needs Hip-Hop Makeover, Faux Shizzle
Filed Under Current Events, Politics | Leave a Comment
As a Republican, I tend to get a little nervous when my party starts being consumed with looking “cool” so they can attract younger voters. They always end up looking like Gene Wilder after Richard Pryor tried to teach him how to be black in the movie Silver Streak. So, with that in mind, hold [...]
