If you have time, flip through some emails from Nancy Pelosi’s office concerning her office trying to secure military jets for all manner of Congressional travels and wallow in the brazen hypocrite that is the Speaker of the House.
Keep in mind these are the people who castigated CEO’s of corporations that accepted taxpayer money for using private jets. But when the “private” transportation (known here as the “U.S. Air Force”) is for political worms, weasels and slimeballs, suddenly it’s not “waste.”
Here’s just one example:
Documents obtained from the U.S. Army include correspondence from Speaker Pelosi’s office requesting an Army escort and three military planes to transport Pelosi and other members of Congress to Cleveland, Ohio, for the funeral services of the late Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones. Pelosi noted in her letter of August 22, 2008, that such a request, labeled “Operation Tribute” was an “exception to standard policy.”
You just know politicians are up to something crooked when they’re coming up with code-names for funerals.
Incidentally, the signal for Pelosi’s fighter escort to take off was initiated with the order “Facelift! Facelift! Facelift!”
Pelosi of course doesn’t seem to think this is “waste.” But then this is the person who just referred to the trillion dollar porkulus package as “fiscally responsible” and “market oriented.”
