When Florida Gov. Charlie Crist is on the ballot for U.S. Senate next year, Floridians shouldn’t let the fact that he may have single-handedly (with a little help from on high) saved the state from the ravages of hurricanes cloud their judgment when they’re deciding who to vote for:
Could it be divine intervention that’s kept Florida safe from hurricanes since Gov. Charlie Crist took office?
Crist said he isn’t trying to take credit, but he told a group of real estate agents Friday that he’s had prayer notes placed in the Western Wall in Jerusalem each year and no major storms have hit Florida.
Too bad Crist couldn’t have mentioned the Tampa Bay Rays in his notes — they’re 10 and a half behind the Yankees right now. Thanks a lot, Chuck.
If it’s that easy, I can’t help but wonder why the Republican Gov. didn’t place a prayer in the Wall just before the presidential election — or, did he?
