If the “Tea Party Express” rally in New Lenox near Chicago is any indication, the national event this coming Saturday in DC promises to be enormous.
According to this story, 8,000 to 10,000 people attended, both Republican and Democrat.
Hopefully a push can be made to point out to the media that it isn’t an “anti-tax” movement as it’s reported in the video here, but rather an anti-Socialism movement to confront what is resulting in confiscatory taxation that is dragging the country down the financial toilet.
On the dumber side of the coin, here’s what our resident genius Vice President Joe Biden said yesterday:
“I love my Republican colleagues saying, ‘Biden why are you pushing a stimulus package? Why are you out there spending this money?’ I’ll tell you why. Because there are millions of Americans today who are getting unemployment insurance who wouldn’t get it but for that recovery act. Millions,” said Vice Pres. Biden.
The government’s “Recovery Act” spends billions on unemployment insurance for people put out of work partly because the economy is crippled by recovery acts? I’m not overly educated, but this sounds like self-perpetuating misery if I ever heard it.
