Todd Palin: Bum?

The lengths the talking-head left will go to in order to trash the Palins is laughable, for many reasons:

After introducing Lopez on her CNN Headline News program last night, Behar played a clip of Lopez’s HBO special in which he said, “There are a lot of politicians that would be Latinos and a lot now who are Latino. Sarah Palin, Latina. Believe me. She’s got all the signs. She works and her husband don’t.”

Later in the segment, after commenting about Palin’s lack of experience, Lopez stated, “I mean, the concept of Todd Palin being a stay-at-home dad-listen Joy, when I was a kid, those guys were called bums.”

“Uh-huh. They’re still called bums,” agreed Behar.

It’s funny how quickly some liberals — the same bunch who have spent a couple of generations attempting to feminize men and turn us all into Alan Alda — will mock a man for not being a “man’s man” if it fits their agenda. But if you give ’em a John Wayne type, they’ll call him a knuckle-dragging, uneducated, non-progressive, unsophisticated simp.

But as Newsbusters pointed out, even the Washington Post had to admit last year, in a piece that was otherwise trashing the Palins, that Todd Palin is anything but a bum:

…But Todd Palin, 44, the ruggedly handsome four-time winner of the 2,000-mile Iron Dog snowmobile race, was already an Alaska star before his wife’s election in 2006. Along with his family duties, he held two jobs, working occasional 85-hour weeks as an oil production operator for BP and, for a month each summer, as a commercial salmon fisherman in Bristol Bay.

Yeah, a real bum.

Here’s Joy Betard with George Lopez, if you can stand it. Self-sufficient people who have the audacity to take care of their own families without the need for government-sponsored diapering really tick these nanny-staters off, don’t they? That’s just one reason I like the Palin family:
