Grand Opening of the ‘Come On Al Qaeda, We Dare Ya!’ Tower in Dubai

The grand opening of the Burj Khalifa Tower, now the tallest building in the world, was a fairly humble event, at least by any measure of Dubai grandiosity (the firework shells weren’t solid gold and filled with diamonds).

Just think how big this thing would have been if Dubai wasn’t in the throes of a financial crisis:
