I’m Not (Global) Warming to the Idea of Newt Gingrich for President
Filed Under Politics | 7 Comments
Newt Gingrich said yesterday he considers himself among the top tier candidates for the 2012 GOP nomination. Count me out.
Gingrich was a conservative rock star of sorts in the early to mid 90’s. The “Contract with America†was a flash of political brilliance, and with it Gingrich led the Republican Revolution in 1994. In recent years though, he lost me with his move to the middle — and even left on some issues — not to mention some extremely questionable endorsements. Republicans already tried running John McCain for president once, so they sure don’t need to try it again.
That aside, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get this picture of Newt drinking climate change Kool Aid from Nancy Pelosi’s glass slipper out of my mind (at least that’s what I see when I look at it) — and I trust neither will many Republican voters (click the pic to see the nauseating ad):
If Gingrich decides to run, that picture will be the star of all his opponents ads in the primaries.
You can’t possibly call yourself a “conservative” and while signing off on the biggest scam yet designed to strip-mine America of its money and freedom.
I suppose it’s possible for Newt to win me back, but he’s got some serious repenting to do in order to wipe the Pelosi off him.

count me out as well. I leaning toward Romney.
Count me out completely! I would like to see what Thune has to offer.
Yes, Newt has spent too much time with the "social engineering" crowd.
Like Obama, he's an excellent speaker, but runs with the wrong crowd.

Newt will not be trusted, again. He is now pretty much part of the problem…another ego on parade.
You have to go back a few years, but I lost hope with Newt when I saw him on a late night talk show, talking up Hillary's concept of a national medical database.
Newt. Just another career politician that will say and do anything to get elected and retain power. I'll be campaigning for Cthulhu before Newt.
