Via HotAir, this is too good to pass up:

Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams is set to undergo heart surgery this week in the United States.

CBC News confirmed Monday that Williams, 60, left the province earlier in the day and will have surgery later in the week.

Williams promotes and defends the Canadian health system — unless he’s the one who needs surgery:

To be fair though, sometimes when wealthy American politicians need quality health care, they go to Canada. Wait, no they don’t. Nevermind.

“Government health care” peddlers are almost always hypocritical blowhards who know they have the means to avoid the same system that’s supposed to be good enough for the rest of us.

This story gave me a John McCain flashback: “If the US socializes medicine, where will Canadians go for health care?”

    Dear Mr. Powers,
As a resident of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador ( I like to think of myself as your most easternly reader) I take offence at your remark that Mr. Williams is a promoter and defender of Canadian Healthcare. He is not. In this clip he said he was speaking to Tommy Douglas' daughter. That's a far cry from promoting and defending healthcare. Medicare was around longer than Mr. Williams has been in politics. It is a fact of life here. There is no chance of it being changed anymore than you can change the color of the sky. Its here and its not going away.
By the way, Tommy Douglas was a member of the New Democratic Party, which is a really dumb way of saying Socialist Party. Mr. Williams is a Progressive Conservative, which has all the emphasis on conservative and little on progressive.
I truly, truly enjoy reading The Powers That Be every morning and I am going to take this slight as just an attempt at humor. The unfunny part is government run healthcare. Do not let it happen.
    God bless,

    Thanks Alice!

While far from a Canadacare zealot, Williams certainly speaks of it glowingly:

It's just that one of the "five principles" of Canada's health care system seems to be that none of those principles are good enough to perform his surgery. Nothing against him… he knows where to go for the best care…
