Gore’s Back for More of Your Green

And this whole time we thought Al was hiding until the blizzards caused by an increasingly warming world (huh?) subsided — unfortunately not. As we all know, it’s impossible to shame Al Gore, and it turns out that his group has been busy putting together ads to air in four states pushing for more of our money to be wasted paying for the “green jobs” scam:

Al Gore’s climate advocacy group is launching new TV ads that pressure Senate centrists from Indiana, Missouri, Maine and Arkansas to support comprehensive energy and climate change legislation.

The ads by Repower America – which is part of Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection – show residents from the states touting the benefits of “clean energy” and calling on their senators to get on board.

Couldn’t they have at least waited to monger global warming until the blizzards were over? My gut hurts from laughing so much.

Here’s an ad targeting Missouri politicians:

Well, by all means, if the alpaca farmer is for it, count me in! (it’s well past time to replace the old coal-powered alpacas with clean-burning hybrid alpacas)

So hey, let’s spend more money on this “green jobs” boondoggle — the government has been spending it so responsibly so far:

Despite all the talk of green jobs, the overwhelming majority of stimulus money spent on wind power has gone to foreign companies, according to a new report by the Investigative Reporting Workshop at the American University’s School of Communication in Washington, D.C.
Nearly $2 billion in money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has been spent on wind power, funding the creation of enough new wind farms to power 2.4 million homes over the past year. But the study found that nearly 80 percent of that money has gone to foreign manufacturers of wind turbines.

Sheriff Roscoe P. Biden, where are you?

“Green jobs” have been very “green” for foreign countries and Al Gore, the latter of which has grown larger than many of the former.

It’s the definition of “green jobs” that bothers me most: “Borrowing money from current and future generations, siphoning it through weasels in Washington, giving a bunch of it to foreigners and the rest of it to labor unions to manufacture something there isn’t a demand for.” Somehow this saves the planet from a fiery demise.

There is nothing more unsustainable than a government make-work program dedicated to sustainability.

For more on how ridiculous “make work” programs will help save the Earth, watch “Stimulus Pussy” at work at his new green job.
