The hits for the Democrats just keep on coming:
Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh will not seek re-election this year, Fox News has learned.
The two-term Indiana senator is known as a moderate Democrat. His retirement gives Republicans yet another opportunity to pick up a seat in a year when several incumbent Democrats are considered vulnerable.
Former GOP Sen. Dan Coats had been planning to challenge Bayh in November.
In a poll last week, Bayh lead Coats significantly (granted it was a Daily Kos poll), but maybe Bayh read the voting trends on the wall. Or maybe Bayh just got tired of being sqawked at by the Gorebot moonbats.
Update: A reminder that, though the media constantly refers to Bayh as a “moderate Democrat,” he nevertheless supported every Obama initiative to come down the line.
Update II: Rumor has it that Dem. Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland won’t run for re-election either. Democrats are bowing out faster than Obama after dinner at Benihana.
