There are two kinds of “Clinton smear campaigns” — the kind that involve digging up dirt on political enemies (or making it up), and the kind that involve midnight runs to the dry-cleaners. This is the former.
Remember when the left laughed off the “tea parties” as a few fringe wacko extremists? Even Obama was “unaware” of the movement.
It would appear that Democrats feel a little more threatened these days:
Big Government has learned that Clintonistas are plotting a “push/pull†strategy. They plan to identify 7-8 national figures active in the tea party movement and engage in deep opposition research on them. If possible, they will identify one or two they can perhaps ‘turn’, either with money or threats, to create a mole in the movement. The others will be subjected to a full-on smear campaign. (Has MSNBC already been notified?)
Big Government has also learned that James Carville will head up the effort.
It seems like if the stimulus is really working and the country is back on the right track, as the Obama administration insists, the left would have nothing to worry about.
Defend their positions and argue the issues? Nah… just send out the serpent Carville to dig up dirt on the opposition. And he’s good at that — it’s easier to fling poop when you’re already living in the septic tank. This is a compliment to the effectiveness of the tea party movement, but it’s also a sign that the real enemy of the US government as it exists today is the American people — which makes me more positive than ever that I’ve chosen the correct side.
Remember Hillary’s campaign ad about the “3 a.m. phone call”? Scott Brown’s election was that call. Iran and the Taliban are background noise compared to how threatened the left has become to an increasing number of free people voicing their opinion openly.
The real target?
President Obama had better watch his back. The Clintons are “getting the old band back together” as they say, and, though the tea party leaders may be the immediate focus, I can’t imagine the Clintonites are doing this all to help get Obama — the man who beat out Hillary for the nomination — re-elected in 2012. Historically the Clintons haven’t proven themselves to be that politically unselfish.
