Just How Proud are the Dems of the Health Care Bill?

Late last week, Drudge reported that Nancy Pelosi was overheard telling Steny Hoyer that the House Dems needed to get to at least 217 votes because “none of these members wants be the deciding vote.”

So proud are the Democrats of this grand and glorious piece of legislation that nobody wanted to be the one to be symbolically responsible for it. You’d think they would have been falling all over themselves to be that one deciding vote that finally turned American into Shangri-la.

Worry not, Stretch, because you got to 219 votes last night. But as I heard somebody say earlier, to us, you’re all the 216th vote.

Obama said the passage is “proof that government of the people, by the people and for the people” is alive and well. Since the vast majority of Americans weren’t for this bill, the “people” Obama is referring to are Democrat politicians and big labor.

November can’t get here fast enough.
