President Obama is in Iowa today continuing to sell us on something the Democrats have already forced us to buy, and the more he talks, the more people don’t want it:

A CBS News poll released Wednesday finds that nearly two in three Americans want Republicans in Congress to continue to challenge parts of the health care reform bill.
The poll finds that 62 percent want Congressional Republicans to keep challenging the bill, while 33 percent say they should not do so. Nearly nine in ten Republicans and two in three independents want the GOP to keep challenging. Even 41 percent of Democrats support continued challenges.

And the support keeps dropping even though the taxes to pay for it haven’t mostly kicked in. Just wait.

Obama is now coming across to America like that car salesman in National Lampoon’s Vacation who showed Clark Griswold a hideously ugly vehicle and said, “You think you hate it now, but wait ’til you drive it!”

I’m no poll analyst, but I don’t think these are the kinds of numbers the Democrats like to see heading into an election season:

Here's a safety tip: It's better to remain silent and think yourself a fool than open it and remove all doubt.

Your post has just "removed all doubt".

Hey did you hear the one about Biden buys shoes in threes….two to wear and one for his mouth!!

  3. Dustin on March 25th, 2010 4:05 pm

What did he get wrong? Or are you just assuming that anyone who doesn't follow your ideology must be a terrorist?

Nick, is your real name Charles Johnson?

  5. WLR on March 25th, 2010 4:44 pm

I fear this only illustrates that few people are satisfied with the plan as it stands. This can cover just about about anyone, from those who think we need to increase the health insurance free market (40% of all health dollars are Government dollars under the status quo!) to die hard single payer nationalized health care advocates.

It will not get any better. Now that just about EVERYHTING concerning health care is a public issue, we will be constantly tinkering with it – just like the tax code. Few if any of these changes will be to lessen goverment involvment or lower government expenditure.

He spent more than a year getting it passed; is he going to spend another year on his "Up with Obamacare" national tour? Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is more going on in the country than that one issue.

Doesn't he run Little Green Snotballs?

Find stat you think could serve your ideology, present it wrong, boast about how great you are.

That is Doug "Mouthpiece for American Terrorism" Powers in a nutshell. Gitmo is waitng for you.

If you're new here, I had planned on introducing yourself to Nick, our token lib, but I see he's already introduced himself.

Good one MarkJ. You really got me on that one. Wow, how can I face my family now.

You should have your own column.

Thanks Obama -who needs Death Panels now?

I have to agree with Nick. Citing a notoriously right wing organization like CBS to back up your contention that this bill is not loved by the masses. How biased you are! If you want truly unbiased information I would suggest the daily kos or huffpo

Things are trending up for Nick. Under 0care, free blue pills for all!

It’s been pointed out that the Dems voting for this bill hated it so much, they exempted themselves.

Danny, you left out MSNBC which gives unbiased, fair and balanced reports… gives equal time to the nation's conservatives and independent voters, equal time to those who oppose ObamaCare, never attacks or maligns non-Obama fans.

Oops, my nose is growing again…

Nick must either have no job and/or no love life to be able to spend so much time trolling conservative blogs with such zeal. If he IS employed, I'd wager it's one of those "entitlement oriented" jobs where you really don't need any real skills, but that taxpayers are forced to fund.

Nick, we'll soon be paying for Viagra under ObamaCare, so I'm sure your love life may improve – at least until the woman gets to know your personality. Viagra can't help that, I'm afraid.

Every time Nick shows up here it smells like he crapped on the carpet!

Nick is a watcher – Doug Powers is a doer. Doug has his own successful blog, researches and then posts interesting compilations and generally produces output of some sort. Nick, waits for Doug to produce, then having not done anything himself, pounces on Doug's production.

  20. classicfilm on March 27th, 2010 1:12 am

Mike – You left out that Doug is one of the funniest guys in the blogosphere.

Comedy is sorely underrated, but Doug must be able to tap into his "inner Groucho Marx." For you young, ignorant socialists out there, Groucho wasn't Karl's younger brother.

  21. classicfilm on March 27th, 2010 1:10 am

Nick is the pathetic stereotypical socialist slug with few to no skills, no valued talents, no realistic ambitions, no worthwhile contributions.

No wonder he loves Obama – it's an underachieving socialist dream come true!
