Rudy Giuliani was on Hannity last night and had a good point after being asked about the Obama administration’s response to the oil spill:

It couldn’t be worse. This would be an example if you taught Leadership 101 of Exactly NOT what to do. Minimize it at first. Two days after or three days after it happened, go on vacation. He’s been on vacation more often than by far he’s been to Louisiana… The reality is the Administration has made every mistake it could possibly make right down to the criminal investigation of BP… And, if they’re being criminally investigated then why are we allowing them to do it? If we got a bunch of criminals doing it then why are we allowing them to do it?

Think of a bank that was robbed and trashed. The police suspect it was somebody who works a the bank, and they’re in the midst of investigating — but until the investigation is complete they’re letting the suspect keep the keys to the bank and the safe so he can go in there alone every night and try to clean up the mess that was made.

No, it doesn’t make sense, but it’s the government.

Update: Director James Cameron’s offer to help plug the leak has been declined. So much for getting footage for the opening credits of “Titanic II: Deepwater Horizon.”

Update II: Live video of the riser pipe after it’s been cut being prepared for the lowering of a cover that will hopefully be able to capture most of the leaking oil and bring it to the surface — keep your fingers crossed:

This problem requires a leader who is willing and able to effect a solution, Unfortunately for our country, Obama has neither of these attributes.

And now every Richie Rich, Lex Luthor and Buckaroo Bonzai is coming out of the woodwork to offer their two cents about what THEY would have done had they been consulted. It's like being an investment consultant, everyone knows more about what you do for a living than you do.

A guy makes a movie underwater and suddenly HE is the expert on capping deep oil wells. Talk about hubrus. It's not like he brings any new technology or expertise to the situation, just ego and a need to be the center of attention.

Leadership requires some measure of honesty and courage. Obama has neither. It requires a suspension of political calculation in the exigent effort to solve a problem. Obama is constitutionally incapable of this suspension. I don't think you could design a better instrument for bad leadership than a Barack Obama.

"I don't think you could design a better instrument for bad leadership than a Barack Obama. "

I'd start with George Bush. Gulianni is such a great leader? All he did was be mayor on 9/11. Reviews show that Gulianni governing decisions prior to 9/11 cost the NYC Fire and Police Department dearly in lives lost.

Leadership isn't making bumpersticker statements. Declaring things like "Mission Accomplished" is nice for TV ads, but it hurts our country when it isn't backed up with sound policy.

The reality is Obama is a far more successful president than Bush was, and he is only a year plus into his tenure. He has been successful despite childlike opposition from the right. Flat out obstruction because they can't handle losing elections.

The situation in the Gulf is terrible. But it didn't just "happen", and Obama can't just swim down there and plug it up himself. We as a nation aren't going to solve the problem by pointing fingers and making hysterical, non constructive statements. Next thing you know Rush will say Obama is handling the oil leak like the Nazis did (shudder).

Guilianni is a tool. He literally couldn't win a mojority vote in his own family. Why his opinion matters to anyone is a mystery to me. He is an uglier version of James Carville, if such a thing is possible.

The government is in no position to plug the leak, but the fact that there are local officials in Louisiana waiting for "permits" for days on end to save their shores is evidence of the dangers of federalizing EVERYTHING. Obama could do something about waiving these ridiculous "permit" lag times. For that, the federal government deserves its criticism.

Yeah you libs always start with putting the blame on George Bush. You left out Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfield, Condeleeza Rice, Fox News and on and on. Zero is not a leader – he is a failure! A complete, Jimma Carter, liberal failure on all fronts. The only difference is he has the backing of a complete socialist and liberal media who cover his back side.

No one expects Obama to know the solution to an unprecidented and complex problem. But I expect him to find one. One defining trait of America is innovation and inginuity. Bring in the talent, define the goal, marshal the resources and get it done. That is not oversimplifying, its just leadership.

James Cameron? That's just goofy. How would he make a love story out of this? A mermaid threatened by tarballs saved by Leonardo Di Caprio? It's a stretch.

But Michael Moore could have some potential. If Moore were carefully lowered stern first over the wayward well, and the pipe inserted into slot A, he could buy valuable time for the engineers to find a permanent solution. Just a thought.

Someone sure has a warped sense of reality. If one measures success in drawing the US closer to socialism, then you are correct.

Wouldn't it be easier Nick to list the things you don't blame on Bush instead of posting your usual drivel? We really don't want to hear about how your little penis got caught in the zipper of your designer jeans and it is Bush's fault because you failed No Child Left Behind tests for the seventh time.

    Nick,

You, sir, are a f**king tool. Read a newspaper or a book. Rudy's leadership should not be in question. Unless you're a fool and have no understanding of facts.

    JJ

Keep checking out this blog and you will soon find out that Nick is our resident F**king tool. His mommy writes his material for him which she gets from Huff My Post. When Nick gets home from 5th grade she lets him come here and repreat the I Hate Bush/All Bush's Fault/8 yrs. Of Bush/Yada Yada Yada Yada.

We just taunt him so he will get a little willy wacker and go crying to his socialist teachers and report what the "Nazi's" are saying about them.
