The day NC Rep. Bob Etheridge knocked around a college kid who dared to ask him a question, I wrote over at Michelle’s site that his opponent, Renee Ellmers, should make a campaign ad in which she said, “I’ll focus my swings on knocking out the debt instead of my constituents.”
She came close, but pulled her punches too much:

Gee, this was really a much weaker response than she could have had. She needs help with video production. "He needs to explain?" Give me a break. What explanation would she accept? I would accept none. So what would be the point of explaining. That statement confuses the issue, leading one to think that maybe there is a good explanation for inexplicable behavior.
All she needed to say is that this isn't the behavior one expects from a Congressman, and she can provide better leadership and a better example for our students.
She should have said, " When our Navy SEALs treat a terrorist like this they are Court Martialed, should we hold our Congress to the same standard?"
All I have to say, I sure wish some East Coast Leftist @$$bag would of laid hands on me when I was in college
