After lefties like Andrew Sullivan ran with each and every one of Levi Johnston’s claims about Sarah Palin and her family as “evidence” that Palin is a fraud and her family is not what it appears to be, Johnston has come out and admitted that he pretty much made it all up:

Levi Johnston isn’t just getting past his differences with Bristol Palin – he’s also hoping to make amends with her famous mom.

“Last year, after Bristol and I broke up, I was unhappy and a little angry. Unfortunately, against my better judgment, I publicly said things about the Palins that were not completely true,” he tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I have already privately apologized to Todd and Sarah. Since my statements were public, I owe it to the Palins to publicly apologize.”

Johnston’s apology won’t make the airwaves of the networks that were so anxious to broadcast his initial claims ::cough:: CBS ::cough::. The media got what they wanted out of Levi Johnston, and now he’ll go back to being as irrelevant as he was before he even met the Palins.

Now that Johnston’s apology is out of the way, we’ll wait for Sullivan’s. But since we’re still waiting for the left to apologize for blaming the death of Census worker Bill Sparkman on “right wing tea party extremists,” I think we’ll be waiting a while.

If anything, some on the left will use Johnston’s apology as the catalyst for a new conspiracy theory: The Palins paid Johnston to say he lied. It’ll happen… just wait…

Sullivan is too delusional and deranged to apologize.

They're already saying that over at Huffy, at least the readers. Funny how he is telling the truth when slamming Palin, but now he is being bribed. Typical.
