Obama Finally Agrees to Tough, Hour-Long Sit-Down Interview

Many in the White House Press Corps have been critical of President Obama (I mean O’Carter, sorry) for dodging the press on the major issues, but finally this week he’s agreed to come out of that bubble and allow himself to be pelted with hard-hitting questions from the women on… The View:

NEW YORK — ABC’s “The View” has welcomed many notable guests, but none more prominent than President Barack Obama, who is scheduled to visit for Thursday’s edition.

In making the announcement on Monday, executive producers Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie said this marks the first time a sitting U.S. president has visited a daytime talk show.

They said the majority of the hour will be devoted to Obama’s appearance, which will touch on topics including jobs, the economy, the Gulf oil spill and family life inside the White House. It is scheduled to tape on Wednesday.

Wow, they’re going to need a spatula to get Goldberg, Behar and Walters off their chairs after this show.

What will Obama’s answer be when Barbara Walters asks him what kind of twee he’d like to be? (Possible answer: The General Sherman tree)

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the only right-leaning woman in the lot, won’t get a word in edgewise because she’ll be on the phone with Joe Biden the whole time.
