No, not that one — the mosque is still a “go” of course. This house of worship is a Greek Orthodox church that was destroyed in the 9/11 attacks.

The dhimmi-wits in charge of New York have been stringing along the church’s leaders for years as far as permission to rebuild nearby, and now it appears the church has been denied:

Greek Orthodox leaders trying to rebuild the only church destroyed in the Sept. 11 terror attacks expressed shock this week after learning, via Fox News, that government officials had killed a deal to relocate the church.
Though talks between the church and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey stalled last year, church leaders say they’ve been trying to kick-start discussions ever since. But amid debate over whether a proposed Islamic community center should go forward near Ground Zero, government officials threw cold water on the prospect of any deal with the church — telling Fox News the deal is off the table.

They should change the name of the city to Bizarro World. Nancy Pelosi will probably want to investigate the Greek’s motives for wanting to rebuild.

Maybe New York’s political leadership thought the “Greek Orthodox Church” was just a clever ploy from Wal-Mart to sneak a store into the area — like a cut-rate, non-union Trojan horse with a greeter wearing a chimney-pot hat.

So I take it that we are now under sharia after all, i.e., no non-Muslim places of worship may be built or repaired? Interesting….

the Greek Orthodox church congregation shouid sue. buy a pitt bull attorney and go for it. get 100 million and rebuild. if they are too timid to sue, then they deserve to be shut out. this is a no brainer. didn't they own the lot their church was on? seems to me they are playing nice after all this time. sue the pants off the City and get it done. the Muslim scum will be turned back. this is our battle of Vienna. sue Bloomberg's ass off too. i can't bear to think of that punk as president of the US. ruin him now.

Talk about a political black hole for libs! Someone should start betting on Intrade on which gets built first, the Greek church or the mosque. It would become a daily point of discussion as people started tracking trends and sharp movements.

I wonder how much it will cost Bloomberg to break the law a second time and run for a fourth term?

Look, y'all; Bloomberg and some Washington pin-heads have declared this mosque to be a "local" issue. That being the case, we owe a huge apology to Japan. Pearl Harbor was a local Hawaii issue but the country just HAD to react to the Japanese attack as if it concerned us all. I believe a Shinto shrine above the Arizona Memorial is appropriate in order to apologize for us killing millions of Japanese in retaliation for our over reaction to a local event.
