This might surprise you, but I agree with Harry Ried that Obama is like a trapped miner — both are in dangerously over their heads and begging for cigarettes:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has compared President Barack Obama to a trapped Chilean miner.

In a speech to supporters in Las Vegas on Sunday night, Reid said that when Obama replaced George W. Bush in the White House he found himself in a “hole so deep that he couldn’t see the outside world.

“It was like the Chilean miners, but he, being the man he is, rolled up his sleeves and said ‘I am going to get us out of this hole,’” Reid said at an “Early Vote GOTV” event.

It’s worth noting for Harry that the leader in saving the Chilean miners was a conservative.

From Spuddser in comments: “I guess that would be an apt comparison if the Chilean miners had all grabbed their shovels and started digging downward to get out of the hole.”

In the meantime, preparations are underway in Chile to permanently seal the mine, but there’s just one more thing to do:

    "like a trapped Chilean miner"

You know, 'some' people just shouldn't do analogies and I'm leaving it at THAT!

"Let's outvote them, that's what we'll do because when you walk into that booth your vote is equal to the wealthiest person in The United States Of America" ( Jim Clyburn, Maj. Whip )

How quaint. Invoking images of log cabins and good old-fashioned bootstrap gumption in an era where it takes a small army of conservative ( but determined! ) commentators and LEGIONS of dedicated bloggers to offest (1) Soros-vote?

I guess the Dem's are learning what it's like to be a cold-call broker and have the receptionist ask "If you'd 'like' to leave a message"? ( Nanny, hope you're feeling better! )

    Second!

Right, note to self: When you find yourself in a HOLE…?

One of the most dangerous phases in the Stages Of Grief is Stage 3: Anger & Bargaining. Where the afflicted lash out initially but that soon gives way to deal making with… The Powers That Be!

The reason I say 'dangerous' is that, with all this spastic flailing, who knows? They just might stumble on something that actually gains traction w/ voters? Highly freaking unlikely ( but remotely possible ) Btw, this is usually where the ref. calls the match.

"Obama being the man that he is, rolled up his sleeves and blamed everything on Bush, continues to blame Bush and can't seem to find his way out of the paper bag that is covering his head. He is even blaming Bush for not being able to find his big boy pants to put on. He also had a sliver in his thumb last week and it was all Bush's fault. His dog crapped on the floor and it is Bush's fault. His kobe beef dinner was delivered late and it is Bush's fault. Yadda Yadda Yadda.

    Bye Bye Harry Reid!

But, but, isn`t that the shortest distance to China ?!

According to Spotted-Owl Bore, the earth is millions of degrees hot just a mile or so deep; Shouldn`t it be at least 1/2 a millions of degrees hot where these miners were ?! Just wondering out loud !

If, as we are constantly reminded, Bush drove us into the ditch and dug us into a deep hole instead of wrolling up his sleaves and pushing the car out……. why did the Brilliant Economist – in – Chief dig us 4 times deeper ???

Just heard on Rush, Reid is down by 3 !! Sic him, Sharron !!

Harry Reid is a lying sack of sh!t. The Petraeus crap he tried feeding Nevedans during the Angle debate was incredible.

I truly believe that Harry grew from a stain on the sheets of the whore houses his mother used to do laundry from.
