Time Magazine was being lobbied hard to name Julian Assange “Person of the Year.” As a matter of fact, in an online poll, Time’s readers voted overwhelmingly for Assange to be named Person of the Year.

Time editors were so impressed with the lobbying effort that they chose

Michael Moore is totally “unfriending” Time Magazine right now. You know Assange is fringe when even the lefties at Time wouldn’t go there.

And there’s also heartache in hippie heaven:

The Berkeley City Council has indefinitely delayed a vote on whether to bestow hero status on a soldier who purportedly released classified information to WikiLeaks.

Some days like this can only be described in song:

I can get onboard w/ dubbing Assange as "Oddity" Of The Year but.. 'person'?

Obviously Time's readers haven't heard of The Tea Party? THAT is the real story! If you really need a sex symbol to fantasize 'about', her name is Repudiation!

As in: Repudia, Repudia… let down your hair! ( That working for ya'? )

It was grand fun last week watching MM on Hannity and her stra….ined admission that well, "Not -everyone- in Berkeley is a complete nutt-job!?" ( It's cool Michelle, keeping peace in the family is important, especially this time of year and we all got in-laws 'too' ya' know?! )

Wow, what a headfake by Time Mag. Didn`t see that one comin` !

I would have gone with the Tea Party as well, but Time doesn`t care what I think ! Of the 2, MZ was the better choice, hands down !

Doug, your song choice is one of the very few modern-ish songs I actually like, but the vid played only the audio, disappointing because I`ve actually seen the vid. and I think it`s cute with the back-and-forth drawing interaction of the boy and girl ! Yeah, I`m still livin` in a cave !

    SPG,

A few hours after we mentioned that 'here' I toggled over to Hot Air and they had a Time link posted that showed them ( somehow after not even being in their Top 10 ) as all of a sudden being Time's "Runner Up".

( People must have overloaded their server w/ hate-mail ) I couldn't care less what the MSM/libs/general pub. 'thinks'. The Tea Party is the POTY. Sheesh, if we as a Nation can't even agree on 'that' much ( what's the point of even engaging them in discourse? )

Rick Santelli not sexy enough for them? Oh and Lady G 'would' have been the POTY if there were only 6 mos. in a year.

At last look, even the Berzerkley city council is holding off on their "hero worship vote" for the traitor cpl. leaker !

The Tea Party as "Person / People / Group of the year" would have been such a better choice as they are truely grassroots, scattered with no central or one individual leadership (so they`re extremely hard to attack effectively) and they changed the political landscape in a way unseen in my lifetime ! TIME is a lib rag that hasn`t seen my eyes in ages ! They don`t think anything like I do, most of us here I`m betting !

Perhaps Time felt to have done so would be to in effect nominate Sarah P. and they just couldn't bring themselves to that?

You could also argue the POTY was actually the Conservative Gals ( as a group ) that were forced into -publicly- taunting the Republican Establishment into finally standing up for ourselves.

Kind of like when your date would frantically blurt out "Are you going to -let- that guy talk to me that 'way'!?!" ( Thanks ladies, even 'good' husbands need a stern shot in the arm 'once' in awhile? )
