Odd what some folks’ idea of “American heroes” are, isn’t it?
The Fleebaggers have finally returned to Wisconsin from a lengthy self-imposed duty avoidance, and were of course lauded big time for doing so:
The 14 Democrats who fled Wisconsin to block a vote on union legislation thanked protesters Saturday for supporting them during their self-imposed exile.
Calling themselves the “Fabulous 14,” the Democrats appeared at a rally against a bill signed Friday by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) that ends collective bargaining rights for public employees. Critics call the law an “assault” on unions, but Walker said the legislation is necessary to reduce the state’s budget deficit.
The Democrats who held up the vote were given a heroes’ welcome outside the Capitol in Madison. Chants of “thank you, thank you†were heard as each of the Democrats took a turn speaking to the crowd.
Someday Wisconsin school children, perhaps even starting tomorrow, will be taught the inspiring Fleebagger rallying quote: “I regret that I have but one month to stay in a mini-suite at the Heritage Hotel for my country!”
Wisconsin Republicans refused to embrace the Fleebag 14 who just spent weeks in a hotel and celebrate them like Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins just returning from the moon:
Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald blasted the Democrats upon their return, saying they insulted the legislature with their actions.
“I hope you’re embarrassed to call yourselves senators,” Fitzgerald said in a statement.
No, they’re not.
You know who won’t be in a parade? Republicans. Because they’re afraid they might… ya know… get killed by the new civility.
