President Obama makes it a habit to charge people a pile of money for “dinner” and then either ducking out before the meal or dining by himself. Will that happen again tonight?

Place your bets:

Tonight, the President of the United States will be visiting Harlem in an effort to fundraise and garner more enthusiasm for his political agenda. The events will be hosted by the Democratic National Committee.

Obama will first attend a fundraising dinner, for $30,800 per plate, at the new restaurant Red Rooster. The restaurant is owned by celebrity chef and Harlem resident Marcus Samuelsson, who was also a guest chef at Obama’s first presidential dinner. The restaurant, which “reflects the roots of American cuisine”, is located at 310 Lenox Avenue. Tonight’s event is said to raise $1.5 million for Obama’s campaign.

No doubt the attendees at the dinner will be a bunch of guilt-ridden rich liberals who are begging to pay higher taxes with the goal of helping the less fortunate. And they’ll probably each have limo’d past a dozen rescue missions and stepped over several homeless people in order to attend the reception and hand Obama $30,800 to get that done.

I bet that he does show – for "his people". If it was anywhere else than Harlem – a no show for sure.

Ironically ( I've 'done' that! ) Hell, this is Portland where we welcome the homeless w/ open arms! In fact at one ( Jazz De` Opus on NW 2nd. ) they would hose the sidewalk down to make it uncomfortable for them WHILE putting on the fund raiser!

I will say in my own defense ( it was the last one I attended ) Persons of conscience can only stomach so much irony! Those that don't..? Eyeing a cool bil. for his 2012 Campaign, I'll take the Under! Gotta' go!

As long as the press gets locked in a closet the likelihood of him eating with the donors will go up. But not by much.

Don't want any questions about Libya/Brazil/Petrobras/Pigford, etc. cramping his style.
