The CBS News and MSNBC fact checkers were hard at work once again this week… mowing their lawns or something.

From Newsbusters:

On Wednesday’s CBS Evening News, outgoing anchor Katie Couric began the broadcast by declaring: “It was an extraordinary moment, President Obama went on national television today and did what no other president has ever even been asked to do, prove he’s a natural born U.S. citizen.” On Thursday’s Andrea Mitchell Reports on MSNBC, host Andrea Mitchell similarly proclaimed: “I mean, people who want to raise these conspiracy theorists – theories – and there is no other explanation other than, you know, sort of pure racism, because it’s never been raised about a white president.”

Did Couric and Mitchell even bother to wonder if something similar had ever happened before? And risk destroying such a good “conservatives are racist” meme? Nevah!

If Katie and Andrea would have cared enough to search even their own networks’ websites instead of instinctively carrying Obama’s water they would have found out their blind assumptions were full of more holes than the balloon carrying Couric’s ratings.

The CBS News website and the MSNBC website both posted an AP story from 2009 about a similar controversy revolving around President Chester Arthur.

Arthur was a Republican though, so maybe he doesn’t count.

Why let facts (no matter how obscure or inconvenient) get in the way of the LSM's attempts to keep their man in the White House (WHITE House?!? RACISTS!!!) for another 4 years, in order to give him time to complete his destruction of the country. It's just exhibit #3,412,859 as to how difficult it is for the LSM to discern the truth when their head's up their…well, you know.

What's truly amazing ( and I had no -clue- about the Chester Arthur backstory ) is that the story was in one of THEIR media outlets as recently as 2009! Arthur may be ancient history where most of us are concerned but I still have lingering aspects to a HANGOVER I incurred during '09!

( Kind of like when you get drunk on Southern Comfort and all it takes is for someone to pass the 'cap' under your nose to drive you into convulsive fits! ) In ways, I can understand, there were nowhere's near… the political divides between the U.S and our 'neighbors' to the North back then.

Arthur may have felt, what's the big deal and perhaps that's why he never responded to the allegations? THIS guy however..?

For me, it was in the early `70s, George Dickel & ginger ale…..they warned me !

As for THIS guy, the difference is along the lines of a dripping faucet and a NYC watermain break ! It`s all water, but ooooooh, what a difference !

They conveniently add the words "natural born" to his citizenship and conveniently fail to add "illegal alien" to the immigration issue. They can`t get the facts right when they HAVE the right facts !

The constitution means nothing to these water-carrying useful idiots !

I thought they made a stink about McCain's citizenship. But, of course, that's different.

  6. Mike S. on April 29th, 2011 3:53 pm

Well, McCain was only a candidate, not a president. To me, there isn't a difference, but that's the distinction they (the LSM) would make.

Right, and Victoria Taft ( local conserv. radio gal in the Portland, OR market… hubba-hubba by the way ) had a great video breakdown of how doc's like that are constructed.

In this case, more like DE-constructed? In slowing down the video, you can see what it looks like against a plain -white paper- background, green ( without any printing ) and thru all possible combinations. WTH, it's Friday, live it up!

I certainly don't envy you having to put up with all of the liberal vermin up there in Oregon. You could move out here to Central Florida. We've built a giant gator-filled moat to keep the libtards down in South Florida, where they belong.

Come on, swede, keep up ! I know you`ve got the resources ! Okay, one more time, she`s "the PERKY one" ! ;-)

[...] you, that’s from Andrea Mitchell, so I won’t automatically believe it until its veracity has been verified by any journalist serious enough about his or her profession [...]
