Because nothing would get to the truth more effectively than a government agency started because of a suggestion from Bill Clinton.

From Politico:

Bill Clinton doesn’t like all the misinformation and rumors floating on the Internet. And he thinks the United Nations or the U.S. government should create an agency to do something about it.

“It would be a legitimate thing to do,” Clinton said in an interview airing Friday on CNBC.

The agency, Clinton said, would “have to be totally transparent about where the money came from” and would have to be “independent” because “if it’s a government agency in a traditional sense, it would have no credibility whatever, particularly with a lot of the people who are most active on the internet.”

“Let’s say the U.S. did it, it would have to be an independent federal agency that no president could countermand or anything else because people wouldn’t think you were just censoring the news and giving a different falsehood out,” Clinton said.

How about we test the concept first by creating a government agency charged with keeping politicians’ pants up?

One reason I’m against Clinton’s idea is that if all lies are kept off the Internet, how will kids learn about the 41st President of the United States?

Ministry of Truth…what could go wrong?

During a group discussion about honesty, an old man pointed out that it was Presidents Day, which was about Washington and Lincoln, two men known for their honesty.

"They called Lincoln Honest Abe and said Washington couldn't tell a lie. They say Wahington couldn't tell a lie, and Roosevelt couldn't tell the truth, and Clinton can't tell the difference."

Ha ha ha ! My oh my, where do we start ? We have an ex-pres who (as backwoods pointed out) can`t tell the diff. between truth and lies; then he wants the Useless Nations or our current US gov. to create this agency; then says it must be a federal agency – isn`t that a gov. agency ? Then it must be transparent – so it will be clearly visible, like a black shoe in a dark basement ? Open as a bank safe at 2:am Sat. morning ? Independent as the middle car in a mile-long train ?

I`m of course using my standard leftist translation matrix: whatever they say, the opposite is true.

Yep, sounds like this agency will be all about truth and nothing else…….NOOOOOT !

Transparent is the new code word for liberal lies – nothing more – nothing less. I wish Clinton's bulbess, red nose would grow and glow every time he opens his mouth so we and his adoring press could see that he knows – no truth.

"How about we test the concept first by creating a government agency charged with keeping politicians’ pants up?"

Because that agency would bankrupt us in a week, friend. We'd need a separate, dedicated staff armed with a thousand electric cattle prods just for Bill Clinton alone.

"totally transparent about where the money came from"

No problem for them. George Soros will fund it and the media will fall in line and mock and marginalize everyone who makes an issue out of it. They already did their own 'dry run' with mmfa and

Speaking of moveon…didn't they choose the name because they said repubs needed to 'move on' and quit blaming Clinton once he vacated office. Yet he never went away. Since the 2008 campaign he's been everywhere wagging his finger at us all the time. I think that 'grassroots' organization needs a name change.

    “…no president could countermand…”

The most horrendous phrase of all.

I’m sure Clinton didn’t think of this, he’s just the mouthpiece.

So what we have here is a group of non-elected people who are working behind the scenes in a smoke-filled room somewhere in the world with such power and complete control that even a sovereign national government cannot countermand any of their decisions.

Yeah, sure, so what’s wrong with that picture?

Simpler question: What`s "right" with that picture ? Fewer variables !

  10. backwoods on May 16th, 2011 9:53 am

Does this mean that Bill Clinton and Barack Obama will never be quoted on the internet again?

How will the Democrats get their message out?

  12. SignPainterGuy on May 16th, 2011 8:23 pm

BO is talking about texting to your cell phones his emergency messages. What have the dems done lately that didn`t turn into some degree of emergency for us !?

Oh, if only that could be so !
