Remember as you read the story that this is the same guy who accused Sarah Palin of being sexist toward President Obama.

From the Daily Caller:

Finally the other shoe dropped on the Ed Schultz controversy on Wednesday.

In a release from MSNBC management, the network announced it would suspend Schultz for one week without pay for remarks he made on his Tuesday radio show calling conservative talker Laura Ingraham a “right-wing slut.” However, Schultz will be permitted to address the remarks on his Wednesday television show with the suspension beginning immediately afterwards:

“MSNBC management met with Ed Schultz this afternoon and accepted his offer to take one week of unpaid leave for the remarks he made yesterday on his radio program. Ed will address these remarks on his show tonight, and immediately following begin his leave. Remarks of this nature are unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” the statement reads.

MSNBC has a zero-tolerance policy for remarks like that… for a week.

It’s funny how MSNBC pretends to not tolerate that kind of talk, and then admit that Schultz was the one who suggested his punishment. Way to crack down on your insufferable blowhards, MSNBC.

Update: Schultz, as a self-allowed condition of his self-imposed punishment, was self-permitted to issue an apology for calling Ingraham a “right wing slut.” That apology can be seen here. It’s also re-enacted in this video:

He got to choose his own punishment. Pretty good deal.

If a conservative talk show host said anything remotely as ugly as that – I don`t think a REAL conservative ever would in the first place…..but if s/he did, we`d hear about a firing 24/7……….for a month or more !

Ed basically gets a pass – his choice of a single week`s suspension – and gets to keep his tv / radio shows !? Is there something beyond a "double" standard ?

Erm..? Bit of a pattern here. Probably ratings driven and almost Olby-esque. Puppet master Soros is staffing up "Current TV" w/ faux extremist blowhards like Moore and Olby.

They're 'stoked'! So on the way out, they get a few last cheap shots in to fire up their 18-30 hipster demographic and build new brand allegiance from a failing OLD one! "Dude, did you hear that rad dude call that b!tch that looks like my MOM a total sl@t!? Well he's moving to this totally rad new station called Circumvent TV… or 'something'?"

Well, firstly, if we all look like b!tches and pr!cks to you clowns ( you're cut OFF and can top off your bong by means other than ourselves! ) and secondly, we're calling GE out on this! Like Michelle said just this morning, this wasn't a slip of the tongue. It was perfectly deliberate.

We need to shut down this "farm team system".

When I first saw this guy Schultz, my first I thought was Chris Burke (Corky from Life Goes On) bagged a tv gig. Then when Shultz tried to make a point, I realized I was watching someone with severe brain damage and not Burke.

Isn't this also the entire basis of Bill Mahar's punditry?

(Let's see… my 10 viewers dropped to 3. I better attack Sarah Palin, her baby or Bristol's baby, or 'evil' Jews, or something… If my ratings don't go up, even HBO will can me!)
