I’ll be spending the day with the family at Cedar Point and probably won’t be back until Sunday afternoon at some point.

Feel free to discuss any news of the day, which unless something of the “breaking” variety will probably be limited to Sarah Palin’s speech in Iowa. CNN is saying she won’t announce a run, and that isn’t surprising.

Enjoy the weekend, all!

I realize this is the LD weekend and all but..,

"John Zupan, who died Tuesday night at age 66 from injuries suffered in a traffic accident a day earlier, founded the store that bears his name in 1975 and soon became a pioneer in the city's now-celebrated foodie scene."

Well no, he didn't 'die' he was KILLED! Killed by a drunk ILLEGAL Alien w/ prior convictions! And of course our Oregonian portrays it as a "motorcycle accident". THIS after several other local LSM-outlets owned up to the perp's true immigration status. As Michelle is fond of saying, "Whitewash, it's Prog's favorite color".

KOIN TV in Portland gets it right:
"On Aug. 30, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer *conducting a routine review* of the Multnomah County Jail’s electronic inmate roster identified Edy Porfirio Reynoso-Ramirez as a potentially deportable alien. After interviewing Mr. Reynoso, the ICE officer lodged an immigration detainer against him, ensuring he will be turned over to ICE for follow-up enforcement action upon his release from local custody. A check of Department of Homeland Security databases indicates Reynoso has no prior immigration arrest history."

So be on the lookout if yer' an Illegal Alien who likes to Drink & Drive! After you KILL someone it's just 'possible' a "routine review" in Jail could reveal your true Immigration Status and really put a kink in your lifestyle! Bummer… ?

Sad story indeed, M_W. People killed by drunk drivers.

A young woman here was sentenced Friday to 20 – 24 months in prison for a fatal DWI crash that killed another young woman. She drove the wrong way on cross-town Interstate and hit another woman head-on. A blood alcohol level of .26 can turn things around for you.

Apple growers here (one of our biggest crops) and a sheriff are at odds over illegal alien law enforcement. It seems the sheriff is taking his job seriously and the apple growers now don`t have enough laborers to pick and package the apples. Catch-22.

It`s Labor Day weekend and even though I`m an evil conservative republican who hates labor, I plan to walk over to the rec. park and snap some photos at the car show today; maybe listen to some live music; talk to friends while the weather`s nice. TS Lee is predicted to curve its way north and east from New Orleans and dump 4" – 8" of rain on us Monday and Tuesday. That could spoil things for the Labor Day Parade (103 yrs running – the oldest in the south) but it would correct our 2.4" rain deficit. No complaints either way, just sayin` ! I hope Lee manages to drop some much needed rain on Texas and the surrounding area; y`all need it much more than we do here !

"That could spoil things for the Labor Day Parade (103 yrs running – the oldest in the south)"

That'd be a real shame. Bring raincoats!

One year, my little family took a beach umbrella, at least 6' wide. When the rain started, we suddenly had half a dozen "new friends". One of them helped me hold it so I wouldn`t take off like a kite.

Not only does our little town have the oldest, longest continuously running Labor Day Parade in the south, we also have the 2nd official Rescue Squad in the nation, after either LA or SF; can`t remember which . The "official" logo was an extended hand, slightly cupped, palm up over squiggly lines representing a body of water. When my Dad lettered their 3rd ambulance, he removed the
sixth finger" from the logo. The second ambulance (`54(?) Ford panel truck) is on display w/ the original 6 fingers.

BTW, car show was lame by comparison to past years.

Nice neighbor lady gets stern LESSON in how Prog's operate!: Part I

Condo-living means sacrificing 'some' privacy for a lot of convenience. That's the upside. Downside being that an HOA really is at the end of the day ( just another layer of 'government'! )

    1) Create non-existent problem where none exists! How often have we been drug thru that? In this case, her 40 y.o daughter smokes on back deck. Mind you, this is the only 140 s/f we can 'truly' call our own.

    2) Orchestrate discontent to point of becoming a grievance. Check! Only (1) other individual/party req. to "form a 'consensus' ". Imaginary parties/weasel words apply. "Some people are not happy about…" Check!

    3) Offer false 'choices' from pre-arranged list of 'solutions' THEY control! Check!

    4) Abuse your Conservative nature and play on your sense of decency to browbeat and shame you into compliance. Roger that! And…

    5) Stick you/someone 'else' w/ the bill! Prog Mission Accomplished.

  10. Marshall_Will on September 4th, 2011 8:31 pm

    Part II:

In Oregon ( if we're lucky ) we get 6 weeks of 'summer'. The bal. of the year isn't suitable for 'lounging' on your back deck. The likelihood of (2) occupants being out there at same TIME.., almost NIL.

Is it worth the EXPENSE and harrangue to inconvenience everyone else by installing some sort of "smoke barricade" for (1) person and their wimpy, whiny SIL? Additionally, is it not a suspension of disbelief to claim that not one but TWO members of the same household "have 'violent' ill-effects" from 2nd hand smoke?

NOT… saying there aren't possible cases but again, it's not nearly as common as we've been led to believe and she's related to her son-in-law by marriage, not blood! Sheesh… he 'visits' once a week, if that.

  11. Marshall_Will on September 4th, 2011 8:41 pm

    Part III:

We've GOT to break ourselves of this unholy practice of Conservatives EMPLOYING ( or rather DEploying ) Progs if we think it can give us a leg up and circumvent logical, normal channels. Just STOP it already!

So you've got this pet peeve. You know in order to get it aleviated it would take an expensive and willing atty. so… you go find the nearest Prog ( which our HOA pRez is to the BONE ) and get HIM to do your dirty work FOR you!

Go for it. But then you'll find, you can't turn them OFF! It's simply their nature to gobsmackingly ( thanks Michelle! ) chart bearings for the NEXT non-existing 'issue'. I'm not saying 'all' of us do this, but more than you think! Be it Parking, Pets, Teens, Swim Pools, Lights, you name it.

Here we have Prog on the run, past Peak Busybody and running out of ammo, cut off and what do we DO!? Give them hope their 'skills' have any place in the country's future. Just.Stop.It!

  12. SignPainterGuy on September 4th, 2011 9:13 pm

I started to post between the "parts" but decided to wait.

I`m surprised the HOA didn`t demand that "40 yr old daughter" get in her car and take a country drive when she "must" smoke.

Gee whiz, the Canton,NC Labor Day festivities, parade, rides, concerts, the works have officially been cancelled for Monday, 9-5-11 because the Nat`l Weather Ser. has called for up to 6" of rain beginning in the morning.

Unless I`m mistaken, that`s the first time in 103 years. They go on with the parade in the event of showers, but I guess this may bit a bit too damp and breezy !

This afternoon, I drove through a downpour I could barely see to drive in. It was bone dry at my house and the grass is crunchy !

I hope you all had a nice weekend! If you've heard about the outrage over Obama crony Solyndra's misuse of tax payer dollars, you should know that they are but one of many. They aren't even the first SOLAR company affiliated with the 0 regime to screw people over & use OUR money to do it!
See here for more info: http://zillablog.marezilla.com/2011/09/no-one-cou

Jimmy Hoffa Jr. has basically put a hit on Obama's opposition, and Obama is 'proud' of him for having done so:
    http://bigjournalism.com/pjsalvatore/2011/09/05/u
    http://tv.breitbart.com/obama-declares-hes-proud-

And Joe Biden says that Obama's opposition are "barbarians".

Be prepared to defend yourselves, the left has declared themselves the enemies of Americans and promises to do us harm.
