The President who promotes “free” health care, cradle to grave entitlements, the nanny state, extending unemployment benefits past two years, and who believes that self-reliance is a bad thing is surprised that we’re no longer a nation of self-starting go-getters?

From ABC News:

For the second time in as many months, President Obama has taken the nation that elected him president to task for its own lackadaisical economic performance on the global stage.

Obama told a group of CEOs today that the United States has gotten “lazy” and that America lost its hunger in promoting itself in a global marketplace.

“We’ve been a little bit lazy over the last couple of decades. We’ve kind of taken for granted — ‘Well, people would want to come here’ — and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new businesses into America,” he told the CEOs who are gathered on the sidelines of the annual Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings, which the United States is hosting this year in Hawaii.

The problem can’t be the formulas that progressive economic theoreticians have drawn up and Team Obama has put into practice don’t work — it’s that stupid Americans aren’t implementing them properly. The formulas work — they’ve been beta tested on chalkboards at numerous universities — so the problem must be that an unmotivated private sector business community is too lazy to carry through the grand Keynesian vision.

Why should businesses open here? The Obama administration pays them to leave.

It’s a pretty pathetic existence when you come to the realization that you can be replaced by a talking doll??

Surely, one of those CEO’s companies could build a freak’en talking doll for the Secret Service to prop up at such gatherings and say, “It’s not my fault, it’s not my fault”. His speech writers have got to be getting tired of hitting the same old keys.

The photos I’d like to see are how many empty chairs are in the auditorium from different angles.

He searches the world over for good things to try to take credit for though he has no part in it and denies everything he does. What a looser!!

Obama also famously upbraided Americans for consuming 25% of the world's resources despite being only 4% of the population. But once the economy tanks, he argues that we need more government spending to stimulate (re-inflate) the "problem". So which it ? The only constant I see is an effort to destroy our economy.

I would bet he assumed that once the US economy weakened, his pals in the "more enlightened" socialist/communist countries that Tom Friedman gushes over would pick up the slack. Wrong. China's economy is teetering on failure. They have pumped more "liquidity" into their banks than we have while simultaneously spending oceans of cash manipulating their currency.

We have the only real economy on the planet, the only real military, the only country that can feed itself, the only country that has all of the energy it needs and most of all, we have the most Americans of any country.

If we can go just back to being Americans who believe in free AND FAIR trade instead of this one-world-without-borders of globalization, we will soon find that things just aren't that bad. Of course, we need to return to government that can govern within its constitutional limitations.

Isn't this the guy who sent money to Brazil to subsidize their oil production while stifling our own?

How can the "officials" expect American Olympic high-hurdles runners to compete, much less win and set new records when these officials have the runners hog-tied, gagged and poked a thumb in one eye plus, set up a fog machine to hide the hurdles ?

How can Oblamer, who speaks so often, be so consistently wrong about nearly everything ?

I have come to be convinced by the idea that the DNC and Soros and team first chose the "Present" IL senator for their pRes. candidate precisely because of his ability to lie straight-faced ! The fact that he`s also blackish was a bonus !

Lions have the Bears right where they want them. Bears lead 20-3 still in first half.

Amen to that brother. Many of your observations are echoed in that other Friedman ( Gerorge's ) "The Next 100 Years". In the end, We Win BECAUSE we are Americans! And he's not making 'patriotic' assessments either. Innovation, thechnical know-how and the proper motivation.

That is, as soon as we get that jack-booted THUG off our throats? What we're witnessing is basic playground/high school tactics. We already KNOW whom we aren't. Namely Jeff Immelt and handful of other watermelon CEO's that are saddled up astride your feed trough that keeps giving and giving!

Unlike Trumpka and his bud Andy, we're not invited to the WH w/ regularity. We've done the math and you're fresh out of BOODLE. On a personal note, I'm looking at a commercial building in S. Oregon. The broker was the kind of guy I like. Cap-Rate driven. But he knows the score, most of us won't get off our wallets or take a risk until The J-W@d Supreme is sent packing.

I agree. Because base on study. America has many obese people than other country.
