Yesterday, Michelle Obama participated in the “gentleman, start your engines” tradition at a NASCAR race (contrary to rumor, the crowd wasn’t booing — they were chanting “Let’s MOOOOOVE!”).

On top of that, tonight is “country music night” at the White House:

The Obamas will play host to a string of country stars — legendary and contemporary — Monday at their seventh “In Performance at the White House” program.

Among those performing Monday night: Lauren Alaina, The Band Perry, Dierks Bentley, Alison Krauss, Kris Kristofferson, Lyle Lovett, Mickey, Darius Rucker and James Taylor.

Some of the performers also will take part in an afternoon workshop at the White House for 120 local students about the history of country music and its cultural significance.

What? No Hank Williams Jr.?

DNC polling data must have come in showing that Obama is at risk of completely losing the “bitter clinger” vote. Next thing you know President Obama will pause in the middle of his next speech to put in a dip of Skoal.

"their seventh “In Performance at the White House” program."

With enough golf outings and concerts.., we just might be able to SAVE this country! Yeah, not a freaking priority right now.

Saw Jawn F'ing Kerry ( he served in Viet Nam you know! ) this am on F & F. Pure spin. Gretchen suggested ( as has Iowahawk ) that even if every last DIME were expropriated from the 1% we STILL couldn't make a dent in this thing..?

Jawn: Spin. Again ignoring his 100' ( foreign built ) yacht is one state over to avoid paying Mass. taxes. Oy vey…

I guess soon BHO will host the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for a concert. Then Moochelle will say she's starting her genealogy, but Barack is not much interested in his.

Whoever said the Zeros weren't transparent?

Did you see the way she beat a hasty retreat? Normally she likes to BASK in those moments! And can we be certain a fair amount of those boo's weren't for Mrs. Sheriff Joe? I wasn't there.

Meanchelle has -violent- reactions any time she's not being given the Oprah/Elvis/God treatment. Probably had to go wretch-purge directly after. Only positive news I got this AM was Marine Sgt. gets date w/ hottie.

I’ve always said that respect for public office is a two-way street, and the ultimate failure of this is when the individual holding said office doesn’t themselves demonstrate respect for it.
Is it really a surprise that after three-and-a-half years of being demonized by the party of the President and First Lady (when they aren’t doing the demonizing themselves) that Americans would issue a frosty reception? This is the same President that called Americans “bitter clingers”

If we’re to discuss manners, I’d say there are several instances where etiquette was breached. If we’re to discuss manners, I’d say etiquette was breached with the White House’s sanctioning via a corrupt DOJ the murder of border agents with our own federally-funded guns program, Fast and Furious. If manners are sacred, then I’d say etiquette was defiled when the White House took half-a-billion dollars of public money and funneled it to a failing green energy company belonging to his biggest fundraising bundler. I see little in the way of headlines concerning these.

Frankly, I’ll not be lectured to about civility by people who endorse this:

    +1,000 !

The Oblamers don`t respect the office, the country, her flag OR us !

OK, I'm clearly clueless but who the heck is Mickey?

Otherwise, not a bad lineup. Of course, everyone and their dog knows this is (to be unsuccessful) pandering to the bitter clingers but at least whoever did the selection has good taste.
