In episode XXIII, we learned that Jerry Sandusky’s attorney, Joseph Amendola, didn’t do his client any favors when he let him speak to the media before his trial.

Now I’m starting to think that Amendola is actually an undercover operative for the prosecution:

Sandusky, the former Penn State assistant coach who has been accused of over 50 counts of sexual assault against young boys, waived his preliminary hearing this morning. His attorney, Joseph Amendola, then addressed the media in an impassioned — if horribly misguided — manner.

Amendola announced that anyone who believes that Sandusky is a child molester should call “1-800-REALITY.” The folks at Deadspin did, and this is what they discovered:

1-800-REALITY is a gay sex line that offers “the hottest place for triple-x action … Just 99 cents per minute.”

That sounds like a lawyer who would be overpaid at 99 cents per minute.

This whole story is just plain creepy.

It may be that Amendola is doing his best to corrupt the potential jury pool so he can later argue that his client can't possibly get a fair trial because it is not possible to assemble an impartial jury.

Sounds like he's laying the groundwork for that strategy. "Your honor, how can my client possibly get a fair trial with a lawyer as incompetent as myself?"

The guy said he wanted to hire the most brilliant lawyer on Earth, but Barack Obama was already occupied.

Well, once NAMBLA has its way (with the help of every other organization of perverts out there), pedophilia will be de-criminalized, and age of consent laws rescinded. If that ever happens (and it probably will what with the direction this country seems headed), then sordid stories like this won't even make headlines.
