Nancy Pelosi continues to run with the laughable liberal economic model that is “the most jobs are created when as many people as possible are out of work.” She’s said it before, but this is the first time I’ve heard her put a number on it.

From CNS News:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that extending unemployment benefits would add “600,000 jobs to our economy.”

She also said that the money from unemployment benefits creates a “safety net” for the U.S. economy because it “injects demand into the economy — creating jobs.”

I agree that extending unemployment will add hundreds of thousands if not millions of jobs — provided that unemployment is extended to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barack Obama, et al. Only until voters start giving their ilk pink slips next November can we start to put America back to work.

For Conservatives, this all strikes as being impossibly cryptic. Even humorous. For Progs, it couldn't make more sense! DimaProgs have made it their life's work to RE-define what words 'mean'.

In this case, collecting Unemployment IS your 'job'! Just like all the legions of Dim-loyalists on Social Security 'Disability'. You know, the guy you see hang his Disabled Parking Tag as he rolls into a choice spot and then leaps from the van like Jerry Rice?

To The Base, the message is bell clear. Keep voting for us and you'll be able to stay on Unemployment until your Social kicks in! Yeah, seriously…

More consumption rooted in hand outs rather than in money earned from producing something. This just makes unemployment permanent.

    "This just makes unemployment permanent."

Perzactly. What was once for textile/mfr. workers to tide them over for a handful of weeks has now become a new 'strata' within our Socio-Economic Structure.

I mean wtf, MILITARY people can 'retire' as early as Age 38! ( Well, ASK those guys how you 'retire' on $750 a month? ) This is the string Progs have been tugging on for the last 20 years. Vets get No Money Down! loans, so shall you!

Vets get 'free' college tuition! So shall you! Vets get …? You hear it the loudest in Portland: "Why should having access to higher education be 'predicated' on military service!?"

( See Zero Hedge's article on the Student Loan Bubble! )

Do Ninny Nan P., Dingy Harry Reid, Debbie WasherWoman Schultz, Poppin` Jay Carnival Caller and Oblameless actually believe the steady stream of lies they spew or is it the more obvious, "Expect us to be stupid enough to fall for it " !??

    Or both ?!

Things don't need to make sense in a relativist world. They just need to feel good.

BTW, saw on Brietbart today SEC says Pelousi can be prosecuted for insider trading for the Pickens deal. Strange, no censure from Congress for litigating for personal gain?

  6. SignPainterGuy on December 15th, 2011 10:08 pm

Fascinating; I heard yesterday that congress avoided passing a bill to make congressional insider trading illegal.

Will somebody please cut that puppet's strings? And what the hell is her ventriloquist smoking?

    Dirty socks ?

  9. backwoodsconsr on December 16th, 2011 1:11 am

Nah. Whatever it is is stinking things up much worse than that.

  10. SignPainterGuy on December 16th, 2011 1:55 am

My dirty socks as a teenager had world-class stink ! If it smells worse than that, it should be flushed instead of smoked ! KWIM ?

600,000 jobs – all of them in the Unemployment Claims Processing Department.

    Exactly.

The abuse of power has become the delusion of power. But these troopers in the army of darkness won't stop. Even if their objective is never achieved (but in the case of the US, it looks to be nearing completion), their corrosive influence continues to spread among weak minds.

Those who oppose them aren't much the better off, really. Think you're independent, self sufficient? And how exactly does one objectively define those terms? Hmmm. What is the measure? Is it money and success? Are they edible? Will you be able to feed yourself and your family if the supermarkets and eateries are cut off their supply chains? Think it can't happen here? Stick around. We're already seeing the dependent masses rising up. Today they're protesting businesses. But when the fewmets hit the windmill, they'll be attacking … not just businesses.

    America is losing her soul.

Praise Government from whom all blessings flow.

"But these troopers in the army of darkness won't stop. Even if their objective is never achieved"

Being Friday, I'll take the high road. These are zombie-troops. Whatever happens in WI's recall for instance, doesn't change the fact that state ( like the other 56 ) are completely BROKE.

The Objective, is NEVER 'achieved'. There's always more that can be gleaned from capitalist ventures. Until there are no more. With Gov't Picking Winners & Losers, unless your 'dream' was to run a bowling alley or coffee shop in BFE, we're there!

In Oregon, we're never more than a few paydays from living off the land. We don't find a Total Breakdown all that 'intimidating'? Cutting firewood, baling hay, shoeing horses ( however social ) aren't 'hobbies' out here. Nor are making beer or in my case champagne. It's our CHILDREN we worry about!

Reid was re-elected in 2010 for six more years. He won't be going anywhere in November.

Doug, one issue with the pic of Ninny Nanny Nan Pilosinocchio; the nose is neither long nor warty enough ! Just sayin` ! That witch has lied A LOT !

  19. backwoodsconsr on December 16th, 2011 5:48 pm

Yeah, but making the nose long enough to be accurate would leave her face too small for you to be able to tell who it is.

  20. SignPainterGuy on December 16th, 2011 5:58 pm

Yeah, without smell-o-vision or 1080p so magnification would be possible, it would be problematic !

Government NEVER picks winners. It picks LOSERS "hoping" to "change" them into winners. Never happens. Everyone in the process makes money except the taxpayer who is the ultimate loser.
