RNC chairman Reince Priebus compared President Obama to Captain Schettino of the Costa Concordia cruise ship. On a Debbie Wasserman Schultz “inflammatory remarks” scale of 1 to 10, that rates about a 1.5, but DWS nevertheless wants you to believe it’s the most offensive thing she’s heard since the last time she asked an completely honest person “how’s my hair look today?”

From Real Clear Politics:

“The captain of the Costa Concordia has been charged with manslaughter, and for the RNC chairman to compare the President of the United States to someone who has been charged with manslaughter shows a dramatic level of insensitivity to the families of those victims. Unbelievable comparison.”

Yet when people were murdered and injured in the Tucson shootings, Debbie Downer not only blamed the Tea Party, but stands by it to this day. Isn’t that fit of politically motivated dishonesty insensitive to the families of those victims? In DWS’s world, I guess not.

To quote Navin Johnson in The Jerk, “roll the ugliness”:

Update: The Looking Spoon has a photo to go with this story that would just thrill DWS.

The Golden Cocker Debbie Washerwoman Schultz is beyond help ! I honestly believe she thinks Obama steering the ship of state into the rocks is a good job indicator.

The RNC comment is incredibly mild compared to the damage Mr. Obama and those who 'support' him have done to our society. As spineless as the GOP has proven to bein defending our society from moral cancer, the Democrats can only be described as enemies of "Baseball, hotdogs, apple pie, and Chevrolet." http://blog.timesunion.com/bethlehem/215/baseball

You could go to an even bigger extreme. Remeber back to the Obamacare debates in Congress. DWS fellow (fromer) Congressman from Florida accused Republicans of wanting people to die quickly all because they did not support Obamacare.

I don`t allow myself to hate anyone, but I have a very strong dislike of liars !

It`s hard to tell who I dislike most; the obviously lying DWSs, Alan Graysons, Schmucky Schumers or the slicker, straight-to-your-face liars like Obama himself !

So what about Fast and Furious and all the people that has killed?

  6. Marshall_Will on January 30th, 2012 5:13 pm

Nice catch TS. Nothing 'inflammatory' about Alan Grayson's comments…

But scaring the living daylights out of seniors is what Dim's do best in Florida. Did the RNC Chair have grand charts to accompany his statements? Personally, this wouldn't be my first blush in terms of analogies. The skipper -was- employed in an actual private sector position.

There was no broader conspiracy, funded by global elitists to incentivize the captain. Their only common thread was vanity and incompetence.

Be patient; by the time the next Holder hearing comes around, the remainder of the emails and communiques will be either completely redacted or destroyed and the whole mess can be laid at the feet of the gun dealers, gun-lovin` Bible-clingers and Bush !

Don`t forget showboating ! Oblamer loves his parties and look-at-me opportunities !

    It's a false comparison.
Capt. Schettino ran his ship aground by accident.
Capt. Kickass is running America off the edge of the sea full steam ahead.

Dear Abby once pointed out that those who are the least sensitive to other people's feelings are hypersensitive about their own.

Speaking of Obama, FOxnews.com has a great headline story about how in 2008 Obama said the debt under Bush ($9 trillion) was unpatriotic, but he is ignoring it not that it is over $16 trillion.

Whomever gets the GOP nomination needs to turn that video clip into a campaign ad.

To compare any person to Loser is insensitive to the individual and, as she says, it’s insensitive to their families as well. I agree.

    BWC,

My gen. experience as well. And not just feelings, I've seen supervisors that didn't think 'twice' about throwing someone ELSE'S lengthy career or livlihood under the bus but made a stink you can hear down the hall when their's is on the line?

They see absolutely no conflict in this. I mean, why shouldn't they be holding a witch hunt? After all, they've 'been' here for 6 mos..? Just as guys that slash their ex's tires for imaginary slights, they've checked out and/or hit on every babe in the office…

  14. Marshall_Will on January 30th, 2012 8:13 pm

Right Dex. He wasn't being paid under the table to financially destroy that cruise line. And he probably didn't fake his merchant marine certificate either?

Unfortunately, a lot of people in managerial and supervisory positions are just overgrown schoolyard bullies. Intimidating people is all they understand. I'll never forget the wise words of a friend who got promoted to supervisor. "The problem for me is, not how to make y'all do your jobs, but how to get you to want to do your jobs."

I've had the privilege of working for a few people who had mastered the art of leading people. I'd have walked through Hell to get the job done for those people, and had fun doing it.

    BWC,

But few… VERY few over an entire adulthood. The trick is, when you -do- find a good one, make sure you're stuck to 'em like a gorilla in a cheap suit and ride it together as far as it'll take you!

Again, most have identical M.O's and the rotters are masterful at deception. Just a shame it took all the way to MM to point out Teh Wun mispronounced where the White Sox play ( and for all his assertions of being a 'fan', couldn't name a single player? )

So they're pretty good at convincing the troops they have all the qualities most Americans desire in a leader but it all rings hollow. As Mooderates & Independents found out?

  19. backwoodsconsr on January 30th, 2012 9:59 pm

One of the bullies and knew spent ten minutes in a meeting threatening to fire every damn one of us, and then called it a pep talk. She probably really believed that's what it was.

My favorite boss would print out our outstanding production numbers and put them on the bulletin board where the other shifts would see them and add a note that said, "When all is said and done, the 4th shift is still #1." We had the hardest working hours and still kicked the other shifts' butts. Yeah, M_W, I worked those hours for 5 years so I could be with the best boss. Eventually, both of us went to the 1st shift and we worked together some more. Good memories.

Well, Obama IS like the ship captain in that neither is eligible (nor qualified) to be POTUS.

How utterly raaaaaaacist of FOX for their obviously RAAAAAAACIST slant on the intent of that story !

  22. SignPainterGuy on January 30th, 2012 10:38 pm

Keeping you job-scared was a common tactic of bosses / crew foremen in the old days. Many never learned better, many weak-minded bosses can`t imagine a better way !

  23. SignPainterGuy on January 30th, 2012 10:39 pm

    +1

  24. Marshall_Will on January 30th, 2012 11:22 pm

True, but that shouldn't provide The Professional Left all the license they ever thought they'd need to "prove Capitalism doesn't work!"

All it means is that we're still in the very early stages. When compared to our primarily feudal manorial past, local control is a fairly new thing?

Normally a-hole bosses are found out, stripped of their faux 'accomplishments' and sent packing. So the system works. Like the wheels of justice…

Actually arresting this guy probably saved his life. Somehow I have a feeling that if this guy had actually tried to gun Sheriff Joe down it would not have ended good for the would-be shooter.
