If Jesus had been the way Obama makes him out to be, all of his disciples would have been tax collectors instead of just one.

From the NY Daily News:

President Obama urged religious leaders to back his plan to raise taxes on wealthy Americans — by saying that it is what Jesus would do.

Keeping with a presidential tradition, Obama spoke to the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington Thursday and passionately connected his policies to his religious faith.

“I actually think that is going to make economic sense,” he said of his call for the wealthy to shoulder a greater tax burden, “but for me as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesus’ teaching that ‘for unto whom much is given, much shall be required.’”

Uh huh… and what was Jesus’ view on malfeasance?

My Sunday School lessons are a little rusty, but didn’t Jesus consider publicans who took too much money and abused their power to be sinners in need of repentence? Obviously Obama doesn’t yet consider nearly $16 trillion in debt while demanding people be forced to pony up even more to be a collective abuse of the public trust on the part of the government. I think Jesus would counsel public officials on their tax & spend addiction way before having a chat with the private sector rich.

Roll the shamelessness:

The more the Chicago "haysoos" tries to convince people he`s Christian, the more convinced I am he isn`t !

Just another example of "whatever he says, the opposite is true " !

I know Christians when I see them, and he ain't! He's not even good at talking the talk, much less walking the walk.

  3. David on February 3rd, 2012 2:34 pm

Jesus would want each person to take care of those around them as their PERSONAL responsibility. Not abdicate that to someone else – like the government.

He didn't get the memo to Democrats, "Government is the savior of us all."

  4. SignPainterGuy on February 3rd, 2012 2:40 pm

You`re absolutely right about the first part, but Obama is delivering the memo ! He is a firm believer in "Government as Savior" !

Be afraid, Zero, be very afraid!

Zero has just condemned himself by professing himself to be a teacher of God, and by falsely and erroneously interpreting, for his own gain, a quote from Jesus that refers to the knowledge about his own existence and position and has nothing whatsoever to do with personal possessions.

Zero has just proven himself worthy of the beating with many lashes.

What?! How can you say that? He and his family have been to church, what, 3 or 4 times now since he's been in office. How much more proof of his faith and devotion do you need?!

‘for unto whom much is given, much shall be required.’

Obama seriously needs to go back to Sunday school. I have a feeling that charitable giving would be more akin to what Jesus would ask and forced taxation does not equal charitable giving. Not to mention, when it comes to charitable giving, it is a fact that has been proven time and time again that Conservatives tend to give far more than liberals. Just look at what Joe Biden and Al Gore for proof of that:

The Bidens gave an average of $369 to charity a year for
the decade before he moved to the Naval Observatory – about 0.3 percent
of their income. Back in 1997, then veep Al Gore and his then wife
    Tipper gave $353.

    The man is desperate.

I'm going to trust the interpretation of scripture to a man who thinks we all have the right to murder preborn infants? Right.

Okay, I finally got hold of Jesus (he's a busy guy) and he says and I quote "I don't need Obama to speak for me. I can speak for myself."

  12. Marshall_Will on February 3rd, 2012 8:11 pm

    TS,

Wonderful recall, and context. Obviously in Jesus' eyes, some rich people need to give more than other rich people? Doug posted SJs tax return in the past and I wasn't impressed.

Spot on where "forced taxation" is concerned. I didn't excel at CCD either but if there was a lesson that involved hiking up your skirt and taking it in the shorts [repeatedly] as a requirement for being considered a 'good Christian' pretty sure I'd have remembered that?

  13. Marshall_Will on February 3rd, 2012 8:14 pm

Thanks for hanging On Hold for the Big Guy and clearing that up for us Phil! Just curious, does St. Peter have soothing elevator music while you're waiting?

( What's the Vegas Spread on SB? ) Sorry, OT!

  14. Marshall_Will on February 3rd, 2012 8:17 pm

Yeah, and He should drop the facade of being hetero' too. It's starting to become awkward for Meanchelle.

No music. Just audio of Jesus' greatest sermons. Sermon on the Mount is "pay only".

Patriots are favored by 3 points but I don't know. It's all about controlling the line of scrimmage and the Giants look awfully good at the line. If the Patriots can spread out the defense, like establishing the deep threat early (Hello? Ochocinco? Are you going to show up for once?), they'll be very tough to beat.

The other thing that scares me about the Giants is that they have a dominant, punishing running back. They can wear down a suspect defense like the Pats defense.

This may again come down to who wants it most and one last spectacular play like the last time the met in the Super Bowl. That catch was insane.

This is in Luke and is often taken out of context, sometimes by church leaders themselves for fund-raising purposes. What the reference was concerns punishment for transgressions against the Word of God. If you didn't know what you were doing because you were ignorant of the Word or of the Holy Spirit you should receive a lesser punishment than someone who was well versed in the Word, etc. for the same transgression. More is expected of you if you are a leader and know the Holy Spirit; you have been given a gift. Would you donate to charity? Yes… freely given from the heart. Not coerced. The Bible is silent regarding whether it is Just to take from the fruits of the labor of others and give it to the poor. Jesus does say, "The poor will always be with us."

Don`t you just know it`s tuff keeping her SS BF a secret with all the cameras on her 16/7/365 !

  18. SignPainterGuy on February 3rd, 2012 9:15 pm

You got all that from the "on-hold" recording ? Wwoooooooww !! ;-)

  19. Pasadena Phil on February 3rd, 2012 9:18 pm

Just the sermons. The Sermon on the Mount came with a "Jesus saves!" coffee mug. I guess Jesus has decided to turn his hold feature into a souvenir shop. Times must be hard up there too.

The following link pertains to the previous post about African Americans for Obama but fits in here aptly also. So do you think Oblamer has love in his heart for this guy?
    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/02/03/outrag

  21. SignPainterGuy on February 3rd, 2012 9:27 pm

Not so sure "love" exists in Oblamer`s heart, when all is said and done, but we can be sure he appreciates this sycophant`s rant !

  22. SignPainterGuy on February 3rd, 2012 9:39 pm

Ya know, there are those who`d call that blasphemous ! Lucky for us all, I happen to know, Jesus has a good sense of humor !

  23. Pasadena Phil on February 3rd, 2012 9:46 pm

I must have caught him on a bad day. "Judge not lest you be judged" my ass! And opinionated? Yikes!

  24. backwoodsconsr on February 3rd, 2012 10:04 pm

"The poor will always be with us."

Obama is making sure of that.

  25. SignPainterGuy on February 3rd, 2012 10:06 pm

And just what did you expect from the Ultimate Judge and the LORD of Lords ? And didn`t you hear the part at the first about, "This call may be monitored for quality purposes" ?

  26. Marshall_Will on February 3rd, 2012 10:10 pm

    Stacy,

Thanks for clearing that up, as that's long been my suspicion. About as out of context as it gets. As Misscheryl notes, this whole approach SMACKS of desperation.

He's about as 'qualified' to take quotes from the Bible as He is speaking of jobs.

What I'd like to know, and see more Conservatives *demanding*.., WHAT exactly are the former Obama supporters in our lives going to DO to make amends? Just what personal, professional, political and most importantly FINANCIAL atonements are they willing to make?

We've all had a bellyful of their enabling, water carrying and incredibly toxic self-serving agenda. So what's it going to be!? Are they willing to take -half- their State job pensions? Mow your lawn until you are in fact quite dead? We need our pound of FLESH out of these people! Start making a list.

    +1000 !

  28. OK_Loyalist on February 3rd, 2012 11:24 pm

This a great regarding Obumblears …

"In 2008, the president declared that his nomination was the world historical moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal," Hatch said in a speech from the Senate floor.

"Someone needs to remind the president that there was only one person who walked on water and he did not occupy the Oval Office."

Hatch skewered the president for a remark he made at the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday morning, during which he suggested Jesus might support his plan to raise taxes on wealthy Americans.

  29. Marshall_Will on February 3rd, 2012 11:40 pm

    SPG,

If their response is: "I/We don't 'owe' you a THING!" then fine. If that's the way they want to play 'it'? Do the words "I Won" ring a bell? Oh… can't seem to 'place' that either? Let me reFRESH.

If a margin of 'victory' ( however it was attained, at all costs, legal and otherwise ) translates into the winning party's ability to "fundamentally change" the course of a NATION, I suggest you f@cking BRACE yourselves!

Unwilling to consider drastic ( and necessary ) compromises on issues like the EPA and your taxpayer-funded pensions? Oh… OH..! I'm afraid you're not going to like this one bit!?

  30. SignPainterGuy on February 4th, 2012 12:20 am

No, they aren`t gonna like it one bit. I believe the left realizes they have a shellacking coming 11-06-12, but aren`t showing consciously !

Humorously, they don`t realize how much they`re showing us "un-consciously" !

  31. ChapBix on February 4th, 2012 1:56 am

Not just pre-born infants. Barry supported legislation that allows infants in IL to be killed after they are born.

  32. ChapBixl on February 4th, 2012 2:02 am

What Barry is proposing is simple theft by government coercion.

  33. ChapBix on April 14th, 2012 2:01 pm

Spot on! And it is just more than the amount that is given; it is the condition of the heart from which that giving comes. Scripture says to give from a cheerful heart. That was embodied in the poor woman who gave of all she had when she dropped two of the lowest denomination of currency into the tithe box at the temple.

  34. ChapBix on April 14th, 2012 2:02 pm

Actually, as I think about it, he opposed legislation that would have extended protection to children born alive during an abortion.

  35. ChapBix on April 14th, 2012 2:05 pm

He obviously, and miraculously, avoided the lightning bolt. Somehow, Barry also seems to have avoided it, for now.

  36. ChapBix on April 14th, 2012 2:10 pm

Actually, not so silent if you apply Biblical principles to this. In the ten commandment written in God's own handwriting and delivered to Moses on two stone tablets, we found find not just one but two commandments that apply: 1) Do not envy, and 2) Do not steal. In the Marxist system, envy leads quickly to stealing via the use of the coercive force of the state.
