Perfect: ‘Inconvenient Truth’ Director to Make Short Film About Obama’s First 3 Years

Give the Obama campaign credit for realizing that to make a movie about these past three-plus years will require a director who is comfortable working in the myth, fantasy, science fiction, true crime and disaster genres:

With Hollywood gathering this weekend for the 84th Academy Awards, President Barack Obama has recruited Oscar-winning documentary director Davis Guggenheim to again produce a short film for his campaign.

Obama’s re-election staff in Chicago spent $162,834 on the film last month, according to the January Federal Election Commission filing. Currently in post-production, the film focuses on the president’s first three years in office, according to a campaign official.

Unfortunately for the director, “Titanic” has already been done, so he’ll have to come up with a different angle.

Let’s help with a title for the movie. I’m going with “Obama, the Movie: You have to see it to find out what’s in it.” Or maybe a Disney approach: “Solyndraella.”

    I expect this film will be a remake of Tim Conway's "Dorf on Golf" only not as informative. It should be titled something like "Urkel on Golf".

    I have to agree on both counts; Tim Conway AND Dorf never get old and Urkel could never be as informative …. on anything other than "How NOT to Run a Country" !
