Everybody’s well aware of the Obama administration’s position on voter ID laws, which is what makes this so rich with irony.

The Michigan Democratic caucuses were held this past Saturday. These were the rules in order to vote:

This Saturday, from 9 a.m. until noon, Michigan Democrats will hold caucuses around the state to choose Barack Obama as the Democratic candidate for president in 2012. While this may seem like a formality, there’s a bit more to it than that so you should plan to attend the caucus in your area on Saturday morning.

The caucuses give Democrats a chance to meet, discuss the election ahead, meet local candidates in an easy, conversational setting and to learn about the various ballot measures for petitions are currently being circulated. At some caucus sites, local candidates will give a brief speech about themselves. You’ll likely have petitions available to sign and you’ll get a chance to connect with other Democrats in your area.

Things will get started at 9 a.m. and the registration to vote at the caucus ends at 11 a.m. You must be 18-years old or older, registered to vote (or be eligible to vote in the November election and willing to pledge that you will register to vote by then) and in line by 11 a.m. to vote. You will be asked to sign a statement saying your are participating as a Democrat. Please bring an id (photo id is not required.)

"to choose Barack Obama as the Democratic candidate for president in 2012"

Or NOT. Is there a choice C? Neglected to mention bringing envelopes stuffed w/ cash for the re-election tree. What's MI unemployment rate again? They're stumping for this doofus a second time for 'what' reason again?

Initially a solid percentage of foreclosures were due to borrowers getting in over their head with "teaser/ pick-a-payment loans". That um… began surfacing around 2005 in Cali and FL. How do we explain the more recent FC's in the rust belt? No JOBS?

  2. Truesoldier__ on May 7th, 2012 4:02 pm

Doug, it says to bring and ID. It never said bring your ID. Perhaps the Michigan Dems just want to ensure that their voters have their alias ID's ready for the November election.

  3. SignPainterGuy on May 7th, 2012 4:16 pm

Interesting; "an" ID is required, but NOT a "Photo ID" ! I understand that country music stars are majority conservative / republican, but what about their fans ? Are they as well ? Will the dem. rednecks with their names on buckles and belts be counted ? How `bout tatted nicknames ?

  4. Marshall_Will on May 7th, 2012 4:58 pm

Right, like any criminal enterprise, eventually they run out of primary color names and someone has to be Mr. Pink.

The other day I posted the "Foreclosure Heat Map" from 2008 on MM's at happyscrapper's request. The SWATH of foreclosures across that state looked like the ash belt Mount St. Helens left in 1980.

Deep Blue metros might as well apply for Third World Status and get it over with. As Hangfire noted on The Life of Julia schtick, "Can she use Small Business Administration Loans to pay off her college loans?"

  5. SignPainterGuy on May 7th, 2012 6:55 pm

That`ll be at least 3 in his name ! I wonder how many more are anticipated ?

  6. Granny55 on May 7th, 2012 6:57 pm

How ironic is this story? I was in Detroit Thursday thru Sunday for my daughter's wedding and the Detroit Black Caucus was in the same hotel we stayed in.

And on a side note….. The Hilton Double Tree Hotel changed out all of their toilets with brand new "green ones" that are supposed to save water. Every day we were there we had to have maintenance up to fix the toilet. Of the 43 rooms that we took up, 37 of them had problems with the toilet. Yup that "green" thing is really working out of for them.

  7. Marshall_Will on May 7th, 2012 7:08 pm

Firstly, congrats! ( And that must have been SOME wedding! )

43 rooms is like a whole FLOOR isn't it. Likely the problem encountered is the guests were not conforming to FLOTUS' diet of tree bark and grass clippings. In short, YOU are the problem!

Obviously this young couple isn't subscribing to "Julia's Life" so good for them. In spite of all the visual appeal that is a wedding ( flowers, banners & bows etc. ) you could be blind and have as much fun at the reception. It's the stuff you HEAR that makes them memorable. IMHO….

CONGRATS to you and the Happy Couple and I know it`s good to be back home where things "disappear" like they`re supposed to ! ;-)

Last year, L.A. had to come up with an extra several $Hundreds of Thousands to repair and flush their sewer system because their mandated low-flow terlits don`t get the job done !

  9. Granny55 on May 7th, 2012 9:13 pm

Thanks Marsh! It was a lovely wedding – Detroit Tigers theme as they met opening day 5 yrs. ago. We even had a visit from the Tigers mascot Paws! We had the wedding on Friday and then went to a Tigers game on Saturday. It was a great time.

That said, just the thought that everything we touched was taxed to death with Detroit fees – I wanted to puke. I have not been to Detroit in about 4-5 years – ever since, the now jailed city council rep Monica Conyers (US Rep. John Conyers wife) told off a white construction firm owner that he was not welcome to perform work in Detroit because he was the wrong color. I swore I would never step foot in Detroit again. But, I did and guess what? It is an even bigger $hithole than it was before. But you know Detroit was ground zero for the Lyndon Johnson's great social experiment for helping the poor and billions of $$$ later it is worse than anyone could have even imagined. I hope I don't ever have to set foot in that hell hole again.

First of all Congrats to you and your daughter!

Secondly, I never understood how these 'green' toilets save water as you seem to have to flush them two or three times to get the job done.

  11. jeffythequick on May 7th, 2012 9:32 pm

    At least 14 more…

But that's dwarfed by Mickey Mouse (8,321) and Daffy Duck (2,133).

  12. OK_Loyalist on May 7th, 2012 9:34 pm

If you all would just use the one sheet of TP that Sheryl Crow says we need to use, it would flush better.

That reminds me, don't ever shake hands with Sheryl Crow

  13. jeffythequick on May 7th, 2012 9:35 pm

What cracks me up is mandates for low flow toilets for people that live on wells.

I was at the San Diego Zoo, and they had zero flow urinals. Not the best smelling thing in August. The only good thing is they didn't keep you in the restroom very long. I felt like I was standing in a cesspool. The flies didn't help their case, either.

  14. Granny55 on May 7th, 2012 10:56 pm

That was the big problem. Flush once – no action. flush twice it spits all the pee and $hit back up at you. Flush thrice – it over flows. Priceless!!

  15. Granny55 on May 7th, 2012 11:02 pm

And their new "efficient air conditioning system" went out all three days also. Not impressed with Hilton Hotels and their new green ways. It was actually kinda funny. The maintenance man was trying to convince me how great it was as his beeper was blowing up with service calls for $hitty toilets and and no air. Bwaaaaaaaahaaaaahhaaaaaa. sucks to be him – especially when you have to look and smell the turds in the toilets.

  16. Granny55 on May 7th, 2012 11:07 pm

Dont-cha just love how the liberals institute all these great green programs to save the earth and then waste billions of dollars on the very programs to save the earth. Just think how that money could have been "recycled" back into the private sector to create jobs instead of waste. As Debra said to Ray" Idiot!!!

  17. SignPainterGuy on May 8th, 2012 12:21 am

So Hilton Hotels has their very own "Baghdad Bob" !?

  18. OK_Loyalist on May 8th, 2012 12:32 am

I once read a blurb in a Reader's Digest from founder Conrad Hilton who was asked if he could put the hotel biz in one sentence, what would it be?

Answer …"Please put the shower curtain on the inside of the tub"

  19. ChapBix on May 8th, 2012 1:31 am

    Just an odd coincidence.

  20. jeffythequick on May 8th, 2012 1:33 am

It keeps the pee from splashing out on the floor…

  21. jeffythequick on May 8th, 2012 1:34 am

It still cracks me up to see that page.

  22. ChapBix on May 8th, 2012 1:36 am

Seriously?? Use the same piece of recycled crap paper that Ms. Crow and how many other people have used in the interest of saving the planet?

  23. ChapBix on May 8th, 2012 1:38 am

Fitting metaphor for greenies, libs/regressives and Dimocrats in general.

  24. SignPainterGuy on May 8th, 2012 1:55 am

I can just hear it now; "Every single environmentally sensitive low-flow input processor is operating at or beyond design specifications ! There are no malfunctioning units anywhere !"

  25. SignPainterGuy on May 8th, 2012 2:05 am

Do you remember the poster, "The Re-cycler" from the `70s ? The caption read, "Reverse roll when empty" !

  26. OK_Loyalist on May 8th, 2012 2:17 am

    Wood I sh!t you ?

  27. OK_Loyalist on May 8th, 2012 2:23 am

    How old are you?

  28. OK_Loyalist on May 8th, 2012 2:29 am

This isn't going to work out well for you Mr quick

  29. Granny55 on May 8th, 2012 10:23 am

Wow! Has anyone else noticed the ads for Shari's Berrys on MM, Drudge and other conservative sites? They are the company that dropped Rush Limbaugh over the Sandra Fluke dust up – bet their business took a hit for that dumb move and they are now trying to make up for the loss by hitting up conservative sites.

  30. Granny55 on May 8th, 2012 10:24 am

Hey Doug – any chance you can get a comment out of Shari's Berrys as to why their ads are suddenly popping up on conservative sites? And they are also running ads on Fox News too.

  31. jeffythequick on May 8th, 2012 10:36 am

…while toilet geysers are launching their payload behind him in synchronized fashion…

  32. jeffythequick on May 8th, 2012 10:38 am

oh boy… let's just say I was getting into the fun of the discussion and that wasn't my best post ever.

However, to answer your question, 43. It's a young 43, however. Think 14.

  33. jeffythequick on May 8th, 2012 10:42 am

What isn't going to work out well for me? And feel free to call me Jeffy.

  34. Truesoldier__ on May 8th, 2012 11:11 am

Sounds like the new 'green' ac unit at work. it will only turn on if the outside temp is above 55 degrees. Of course the office we are in is very small, with no windows and has 6 computers, 4 printers, and an array of other electronic devices. So far we have had 4 of the 6 computers die due to overheating and 2 of the laser printers as well. This was in Feb when it was around still fairly cold outside….

  35. Marshall_Will on May 8th, 2012 12:59 pm

Oh wow. Really? Sorry, as a Conservative I'm fresh out of compassion. Maybe they'll think twice before turning Appeasement Yellow..?

  36. jeffythequick on May 8th, 2012 1:22 pm

Same company as ProFlowers, who dropped Rush as well. Look at the bottom of the page to see who else not to shop from.

  37. SignPainterGuy on May 8th, 2012 2:26 pm

Now THAT`s an image ! Heh heh. All that`s needed is synchronized lights and music !

  38. Granny55 on May 8th, 2012 3:09 pm

Pro Flowers has also been popping up ads on the conservative sites too. Evidently the liberal sites are not big spenders with their own money!!!

  39. SignPainterGuy on May 8th, 2012 3:32 pm

Libs send texts and tweets ! If they visit Mom, it`s to drop off a bag of laundry and borrow more money ! Oh, and eat all the leftovers in the fridge !

  40. jeffythequick on May 8th, 2012 4:27 pm

It's all part of "stuff-to-send.com" geared towards guys that want a quick (no relation) and easy way to say, "I spent a lot of time to get you this neat thing".

Not a bad thing, but with their cowardice towards Ms. Fluke, I'll look elsewhere. They probably won't miss my $100-$300/year, anyways.
