A little while ago I received an email from an Obama campaign that is in epic whine mode about how they’re being outspent (trust us Mr. President… nobody can outspend you).

Here’s part of it:

The Romney campaign raises more than we do, and the math isn’t hard to understand: Through the primaries, we raised almost three-quarters of our money from donors giving less than $1,000, while Mitt Romney’s campaign raised more than three-quarters of its money from individuals giving $1,000 or more.

As I was joining the president in damning those evil rich bastards who give to Romney and not to Obama, CBS News’ Mark Knoller tweeted this right on cue:

Not only are Romney’s supporters rich, but they’re also stupid! If we’re to believe what Obama says, these people are more than likely giving their money to the wrong guy.

Here’s the entire email. Just keep in mind it’s from the same people who recently earned a record eight Pinnochios in two days from the WaPo fact checker:

I will be the first president in modern history to be outspent in his re-election campaign, if things continue as they have so far.

I’m not just talking about the super PACs and anonymous outside groups — I’m talking about the Romney campaign itself. Those outside groups just add even more to the underlying problem.

The Romney campaign raises more than we do, and the math isn’t hard to understand: Through the primaries, we raised almost three-quarters of our money from donors giving less than $1,000, while Mitt Romney’s campaign raised more than three-quarters of its money from individuals giving $1,000 or more.

And, again, that’s not including the massive outside spending by super PACs and front groups funneling up to an additional billion dollars into ads trashing me, you, and everything we believe in.

We can be outspent and still win — but we can’t be outspent 10 to 1 and still win.

More than 2.2 million Americans have already chipped in for us, and I’m so grateful for it. As we face this week’s fundraising deadline, please make a donation of $3 or more today.

Every donation you make today automatically enters you to join Michelle and me for one of the last grassroots dinners of this campaign — today is your last chance to get your name in.

These dinners represent how we do things differently. My opponent spent this past weekend at a secretive retreat for the biggest donors to both his campaign and the super PACs that support him.

I’ve got other responsibilities I’m attending to.

Donate today to stand for our kind of politics:

Thank you,

Barack

He forgot to mention the gift registry. Whoops.

Mr. President, if you’re the first president in modern history to be outspent in his re-election effort, don’t take it the wrong way — it’s just that so many people are willing to give their last nickel in order to send you back to Chicago.

"I’ve got other responsibilities I’m attending to."

Like golfing? Like leaking secrets? Like partying with LBGT friends who flip the bird at Pres Reagan's portrait IN THE WHITE HOUSE? Like burning thru 1000's gallons of jet fuel, at taxpayer expense, on trips to give "speeches" about how the private sector economy is fine"? Yeah you are hardly attending to responsibilities – what a friggin joke!

Well over a year ago Zero and Co. claimed, or was it bragged (?), they would spend $1 Billion on his re-election campaign. I said then they would get it from the unspent Porkulus Funds and figure out how to attach small-donor names to it to make it look legit. If that`s what`s indeed happening, they are sure playing it close to the vest.

Doug, you picked the perfect pic to exemplify Zero`s thin skin and whinyness ! And to add to it, someone forgot to send out the "No Booing" memo in Boston ! "I didn`t know I was gonna get booed here !"

    Hey, hey hey!!!!! People, please!
It costs a boatload of $$ to tell us how to live, what to eat and buy assault rifles for Mexican drug runners. Jet fuel is way up. And all those WH caterers charge big bucks for weekly parties. Then there are 17 extended vacays…Moochelle's wardrobe.

C'mon, folks- cantcha spare a dime?

    BTW…
Question: Does anyone know where the $20 Billion extortion check from the BP Deepwater Horizon went?

The "math" about Romney raising more money from plutocrats and robber barons isn't hard to understand, but apparently the math about the US government spending a trillion dollars a year more than it takes in is impossible to understand.
