How about a little Monday afternoon feelgood thread? No? Well, here’s one anyway…
Sanya Richards-Ross of the United States took the gold in the women’s 400 meter sprint today. At the beginning of the medal ceremony, a reporter from Spain’s TVE was interviewing the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt of Jamaica. The Star Spangled Banner started playing while the reporter tried to keep the interview going, resulting in Bolt shushing her with a reminder that an anthem had begun. Very cool. If it had been an NBC reporter, this would have been just a little more satisfying:
Olympic Bonus: Here’s another reason to like Gabby Douglas… lefties are finding her faith “unnerving” — probably much in the same way Bolt’s gesture unnerved America-hating Berkeley progs.

Kinda like the Vonnage commercials, "EVERYBODY bundles"; EVERYBODY stands in reverence to national anthems, yours or others. That was too cool !
Olympic Bonus:
The gold medalist is a teenager of deep faith and gratitude — and that can be a little unnerving

Mary Elizabeth Williams, you need to know what’s going on there. As long as you feel ‘unnerved’ there’s hope for your soul. That feeling is called “spiritual CONVICTION” and, yes it is an uncomfortable feeling. That’s your soul telling you it wants what Gabby is talking about but you’re consciously denying your soul’s desire of acquiring what it is that her soul possesses.
It’s the same for the one who stated, “I would like her more if she were not so, so, so into Jesus.”
Interesting point of view, and I believe, accurate.
