On second thought, maybe the kids aren’t missing out on much… certainly not in spelling class:

Update: I wonder if he had any input when it came to writing this sign.

Since the teachers turned down a good contract I thought they believed in the nayborhood.
I'd be some proud to hold that sign for all the world to see just how illiterate I am!
The expression, "The chance of your being seen doing something stupid are directly proportional to the stupidity of your action" is so apropos here ! It amazes me how eager the truly stupid people are to prove their stupidity in the most public forum possible !
“79% of 8th graders in Chicago can’t even read.”
Doesn’t that mean the 9th, 10th, 11th, etc. graders can’t read either?
That shouldn’t be a problem because most daily newspapers are written on a 6th grade reading level.
Does that mean that cell phone tween- and teen-texting is down in Chicago?
That shouldn’t be a problem because most of the illegals who are taking their jobs can’t read English either, ad nauseum.
So, what are the parents doing about it in the homes? Looks like, not much of anything.
Got that right. Parents of today's world should be ashamed. These children are being raised with no manners, no discipline, no fear and the rest of the liberal gammet of being politically correct about EVERYTHING!!! Then throw those children into a public school with teachers who care nothing about educating them but turning them into little zombies following the socialist agenda. Brilliant – and to think our tax dollars pay for this tripe. Disgusting!!!
I`ve known teachers who lived to see that expression on a student`s face the moment the child finally understood, when the light turned on. It is comparable to the devotion of a nurse for the care of her patients; it`s amazing to see ! SO, the mindset of the union entrenched teachers who apparently couldn`t care less about the students learning, but all about the union membership and squeezing out another benny is incomprehensible to me !
I wish you could see the bulletin posted by one of the railroad unions raising hell about Paul Ryan and the Republicans wanting to end the Amtrak subsidies. They clearly admit that passenger train service is unprofitable and depends heavily on government subsidies to survive, but they apparently don't see anything wrong with expecting me to pay for somebody else to ride a train. They stood with the public service unions. For them, it's all about the unions and whatever goodies they can squeeze out of whoever they can get it from, to hell with the damage it does.
I've never been a fan of unions, but the more of this stuff I see the more opposed to them I get.
Right, scribbling something hastily on a Post-it pad before the other party hangs up on you is one thing? Use it once and throw it away.
But spending *20 minutes* putting Flair-to-poster board and NOT reelizing you're a reetard..?
Even at 53, I still live for it w/ guitar students. There's nothing like it.
But that fire went out w/ these mooks within (2) years of being "in the system". Who needs to read when you're in Total Darkness (TM)
To see the excitement of a child learning doesn’t seem to even enter into it. It’s not only exciting to the child but should be for the teacher as well.
But, for them it’s all about, “…what can I get out of it, with my hard, angry heart, the only thing that seems to move it is more money.”
His summer job is airplane sign maker.
Now we know who did that!
"We don`t need no stinking proofreeding !!"
I would feel a bit uncomfortable being around so many people with whom I had such a fundamental disagreement !
One of my longest-time buddies works for the paper mill here and of course is unionized. His union went on strike in the `70s and divided the town. Afew years later he and I were talking about the next contract negotiations that weren`t going well and the threat of another strike. He was a shop-steward. The union is an affiliate of the AFL-CIO, known for cracking knuckles, knees and skulls.
He was pro-union, but non-violent. I am anti-union PERIOD and said as much and explained how prices go up around town for everyone when he got a raise, but only they got raises. It hurt his feelings and I could tell it, so I changed the subject. Years later, he told me he`d finally come to understand and was no longer his shop`s rep.
DOUG, the "Update; this sign" link gives ERROR 404 ! You KNOW I gotta see that !
He may have also painted several "SHOOL" signs on streets ! `Course I always thought those could have been done by librarians on summer vacay !
I think the same guy did this video. Watch it and pay attention to the words on the screen.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3_2wjRk02s
I coulndt watch it awl, it was hurtin my eyes and besides, they mite shoot me on site fer bein a siner !
I switched it over to Manfred Mann singing "Blinded by the light," and now I'm more confused about that song.
I figured out the "ripped up like a deuce" part when I was a kid, because what it sounded like was pretty gross, but now I'm back to being utterly confused again by that song.
but I have to keep singing it… it's hypnotic…
His 5th grade teacher is probably thinking,
"it's true. You can't fix stupid. I sure couldn't."
He should have put:
I'm so we Todd did
sofa king we Todd did
(best said out loud when the kids aren't around…)
Nancy said, "Just say 'NO' to hypnotics " !
THAN we know who did that!?
archer,
We could all take cue off your post. Over the last 4 years of Going Galt, I've learned there are a great many things that should move your heart. In my estimation, apparently a solid percentage of us have!
While busying myself ( with very purposefully NOT making money for Team O'Drama's Wet Dreams (TM) I've found a passion for fitness, gotten in great, well 'better' shape, started tennis w/ the Mrs. and really connected w/ my Conservative friends and neibors.
+1
