As predictable as the sun coming up in the east and Joe Biden saying something stupid:

unemployment

Overall the economy is what it’s been for months and months: anemic.

Read the BLS report. They sure “found” a hell of a lot of jobs. Then there are the 600,000 people who had to take on part time work for economic reasons:

The number of persons employed part time for economic reasons (sometimes referred to as involuntary part-time workers) rose from 8.0 million in August to 8.6 million in September. These individuals were working part time because their hours had been cut back or because they were unable to find a full-time job.

This isn’t a signal of an economic turnaround (the real unemployment rate — free from the politically-influenced messaging of the numbers — is almost 15 percent). But getting that number below 8 percent was the goal. Everybody knew it was coming, and damned if the BLS didn’t find a way to do it.

After the election, don’t be surprised when these numbers are revised downward big time.

Let me guess, the biggest increase is in the number workers hired to administer the ever-expanding food stamp program.

  2. jeffythequick on October 5th, 2012 12:52 pm

Gosh! Who unexpected this to happen?

  3. SignPainterGuy on October 5th, 2012 1:21 pm

How long before we expect it to un-happen ? One month ? Two ?

  4. Marshall_Will on October 5th, 2012 1:23 pm

Happy Days Are Here Again… blah blah blech!

Because, saying 7.9% would have made it perhaps a bit 'too' obvious. It just has to jibe w/ teh quan's whistle stop "Jobs ARE coming back ( thumbs up/this is my serious face ) and the 'investments' we've made are paying off!" meme.

We can give you 2 tenths prezzy fissbump and that's about it?

  5. SignPainterGuy on October 5th, 2012 1:32 pm

I know what BS means; IF you throw an "L" in the middle of it, does it make it more believable ?

  6. SignPainterGuy on October 5th, 2012 1:39 pm

I listened to Biden`s speech in Asheville (on radio), the same speech he gave in Charlotte minus the "buried middle-class" part, and lost 30 IQ points, but I`m still not stupid enough to believe that the Unemployment Rate is as low as 7.8% ! I`m still stickin` with the 18+% rate; E6 + common sense.

  7. SignPainterGuy on October 5th, 2012 2:01 pm

From The Blaze: "Gov`t says 873K people found work — but reports only 114K new jobs were added" …….
CNBC: "Slew of contradictory data points"

Joe Biden did the math and wrote the report; I just know it !

  8. Dexter_Alarius on October 5th, 2012 2:04 pm

I'm guessing about November 7th or so the number will be (unexpectedly) revised upward by about 0.5%.

  9. Dexter_Alarius on October 5th, 2012 2:08 pm

This is because that EO where Oblameo scrapped the work requirements for welfare redefined things like "reading a book" as work.

OR, I turned a corner and saw some guys installing new traffic lights at an intersection. Therefore, I 'found' work.

  10. SignPainterGuy on October 5th, 2012 2:13 pm

You are ON to something ! No doubt the "finder" will report his job as a monitor and if he tells a couple people about seeing the work, he`s a part-time reporter.

Or more … as a result of employers fears of what harm Romney`s policies will do to the economy.

    SPG,

At least Conservatives have a few IQ points/brain cells to sacrifice without having basic body functions shut down. I swear, O'Drama looks like a wind up toy.

They're not even lucid enough to be insulted by 6 years of recycled stump speeches. If you go on Demos.org or Crooks & Liars, the Pro-Left has really ethereal/surreal talking points thought up by their Best & Brightest.

Unfortunately in their case, it's totally lost on SEIU thugs and DMV/PEU drones.

  13. Marshall_Will on October 5th, 2012 2:39 pm

    Here's an example from Demo.org:

The Economy Grows but Households Work More

Family income has grown modestly in recent decades, but mainly due to working more, not higher wages—an average of roughly 700 more annual work hours per household in 2000 compared to 1975, and still roughly 500 more in 2009, even with the financial crisis and downturn of that period. This contrasts sharply with the previous pattern from the late nineteenth century through the mid-twentieth century, as growth and productivity gains were channeled into steadily reducing working hours.

  14. Marshall_Will on October 5th, 2012 2:41 pm

Unless of course you're a State or FEDERAL worker!? Then it's a bit different chart. In order to make more money ( you have to WORK more! ) What a scary concept.

  15. SignPainterGuy on October 5th, 2012 3:07 pm

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but after having my intelligence insulted on such a regular basis by leftist trolls and stenographers, print and broadcast, I`m feeling a bit bruised.

I AM however feeling more confident of R&R victory. Can`t wait for the VP debate !

  16. TheLiberalMedia on October 5th, 2012 3:47 pm

I am pretty sure you didn't have 30 to spare.

  17. TheLiberalMedia on October 5th, 2012 3:48 pm

Typical right wing reaction. Everything is a conspiracy against you. You are waging a war on reality. Mitt had a nice debate if you don't mind the constant lying and flip flopping. Kerry had a good 1st debate too.

  18. TheLiberalMedia on October 5th, 2012 3:50 pm

Not everyone who gets a job gets a newly created one, Einstein.

  19. Obama bin Biden on October 5th, 2012 4:01 pm

Umm, isn't this based on a household survey? The stink factor on this one is at Occupy Wall Street levels.

  20. Marshall_Will on October 5th, 2012 4:01 pm

Oh that's right..! After several months of Team O'Drama not hitting the numbers it evolved into SAVED ( or 'created' )

Of course since there's over 140 mil. in the workforce, the possibilities for deception were almost LIMITLESS. Tell us oh wise wun, were the Census taker and Americorp's [temp] 'jobs' a) Saved b) Created or c) smoke & mirrors total fabrication?

Try not to strain your remaining (2) brain cells on that. Warm up question: Who lives in a pineapple under the sea..?

  21. jeffythequick on October 5th, 2012 4:03 pm

Or more … as a result of employers fears of what harm President-Elect Romney`s policies will do to the economy.

  22. Dexter_Alarius on October 5th, 2012 4:06 pm

Sure. And I'll bet you believe that several embassies attacked and an ambassador killed on 9/11 was just a spontaneous demonstration about a video nobody saw that got out of hand.

    Fast & Furious
ObamaCare ( Which AARP can't distance themselves FAST enough from! )
    90 Billion Dollar Green Boondoggle
    Holder's Stone walling
Ken Salazar's refusing COURT ORDERS to lift ban on drilling

ALL of which we did not in any way benefit from but are still stuck with the BILL. Perused a handful of Leftist websites and they're all making that Romney=liar claim. Yet like yourself, provide -zero- evidence to back it up. Pound sand gov. dependent lowlife.

  24. jeffythequick on October 5th, 2012 4:15 pm

You really need to work on your snarking,

How about you go to this page, and give it a go?
    http://dougpowers.com/2012/10/04/post-debate/

Then, come back and give it another try, ok?

  25. jeffythequick on October 5th, 2012 4:20 pm

    Credible data please?

Also, using the "Google it" canard doesn't fly here. You're in the big leagues now, so the junior high school crap doesn't cut it.

So, put your big boy pants on, give us a source of your information, and we can debate. Otherwise, you're just pissing in the wind.

    Again.

  26. TheLiberalMedia on October 5th, 2012 4:26 pm

Fast & Furious – started under Bush
ObamaCare ( Which AARP can't distance themselves FAST enough from! ) – false. AARP booed Ryan.
90 Billion Dollar Green Boondoggle – false again. Romney claimed 50% failure rate. Rate is in reality less than 1%.
Holder's Stone walling — Republican harassment.

That`s right of course, many groups on the left have already admitted privately and semi-publicly that Zero is toast, but still believe a Romney Presidency will be a disaster.

The only "disaster" I can foresee from Romney`s new, never been done before policies will be significant reversals of the regress leftists think were progress over the last 6 years !! That`ll be change I can believe in !

  31. SignPainterGuy on October 5th, 2012 8:53 pm

F&F was NOT started under Bush you LIAR ! That was Operation Wide Receiver that failed because the tracking devices were found by the Mexicans (F&F didn`t even bother with tracking devices OR anyone following the guns in any way) and therefore, Bush and Co ordered the OP closed ….2 YEARS BEFORE F&F started UNDER OBAMA and HOLDER !!

The rest of your claims are equally LIES ! YOU are a LIAR !

  32. SignPainterGuy on October 5th, 2012 8:55 pm

    LightSquared: FAIL

Looks like WAY MORE than "1%" to me ! I doubt 1% of the jobs created by these "green boondoggles" still exist, much less 1% of the money flushed down the Green Toilet ! !

Shrillary and the left`s Messiah said so ! Sure the unbelievable TheLiberalMedia believes it !

    AARP booed Ryan http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/election-2012

There was applause there too. The article states it, and the audio backs it up.
ObamaCare ( Which AARP can't distance themselves FAST enough from! ) – TRUE http://washingtonexaminer.com/aarp-to-obama-dont-

Holder's Stonewalling (it's one word, kiddo…): Holder is stonewalling to get past the election (my opinion) and what is Congress supposed to do? "Well, guys, we asked him if he was doing anything illegal, and he said no. Let's go home and stop bothering him." I'm sure when you pester your mom and dad for the newest Xbox game that your friends are playing, they just give in, right?

Good luck in the real world, and I hope you do well in your Home Economics final! They still have that in 8th grade, don't they?
